The 2021 Morgan/Peace dollars are now in the Modern Commemorative $ Registry set

This isn’t where I’d expect them to end up 🤔

The United States Mint calls this George T. Morgan-designed United States silver dollar coin a "Morgan dollar".
But the most respected name in third-party coin certification has placed it elsewhere in its internal registry set.
So I guess that settles it.

A commemorative belongs in the commemorative section. You can argue all you want as I’m content with my call. I believe your theory is doing to hit with a thud.
2021 - uncirculated type finish. Maybe
2022- proofs. Stretching it but possible
2023 or 24 reverse proofs never been done. At this point case closed for me. Actually 1904 ended the series. There is literature calling the 1921 Morgan’s being more like bullion. Had to put all that silver somewhere. 🤨
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
What will 2022 proofs commemorate?
101st anniversary.
1st anniversary of the 2021.

What was the last year of official proof Morgan and Proof Peace dollars?
Before I saw them in hand, I considered them an extension of the original series. Afterwards, they are simply commemoratives. All of the packaging, the marketing, the high costs, and the finish is nothing like an original Morgan Dollar. Maybe if the coins were issued in 1,000 coin bags. Issuing a commemorative as a continuing series goes back to the Columbian Halves, the Oregon Trail commems, the Texas commems, Booker T. Washington and Washington/Carver series.

I really do not care where they are 'categorized'. I know it is important to some collectors, but for me, I just like the coins. Cheers, RickO
