My 'most unusual' find...

I've found many oddities in 25 years of MD'ing, but this loaded die stands out as the most unusual. It measures a touch under 1/2" across, and I've always wondered if it is real ivory. Found it maybe 15 years ago on a 1800s farm site in Christian County Il.. I still visit that that site and another nearby, both of which have yielded a lot of goodies including silver, silver coins, large cents, and many IH pennies. I sure would like to find the other die as well to complete the pair.

Nice find, might be bakelite. If you can examine the surface with a microscope, you can look for the ivory texture vs synthetic. Peace Roy

That is a neat find. I collected dice for a while, years back. I have a couple of ivory dice I picked up along the way. Still packed away somewhere in my 'stuff'. Cheers, RickO
Very interesting find, congrats

That is cool. Is that lead in the holes?
Kind of hard to believe that you could find a dice. However, it looks to be in great shape. Very nice find. Happy hunting in the days to come.

Yes, those are pieces of (what I assume to be) lead...one of them being slightly oversized.
It was found with a Minelab Sovereign XS.
