My research continues ... A period article (circa 1960) describing the gifting of "Original Ikes" (AKA Eisenhower Appreciation Medals; POTUS special Government medal) to an Asian receptionist as directed by President Eisenhower. Formosa (Taiwan) was a stop during President Eisenhower's Far East Goodwill Tour.
Not the actual gifted medals, but one in my research collection.
My money talks submission for the 2022 National Money Show was accepted (touches on the topic of POTUS numismatic artifacts)

That's very cool!
It would be nice to get the original recipient's name on the slab. Not sure if ATS would do that, but it would be nice to see "Nancy Tsai" (and others) on the slab. Does ATS do this for any of your other pieces where you can trace the original recipient?
I've enjoyed your research into Hawaiian numismatics for a decade. The depth of information you are gathering for these Ike medals is noteworthy. Thank you for your presentation, easy to learn when the teacher is good!

Oh, yea......as fortune cookie say........"Beware Of Shifty Relatives."
Interesting medals.... I wonder if other Presidents have given such mementos to individuals during their tenure. Certainly would be a very nice gesture and a meaningful memento. Cheers, RickO
Worthless post w/o pictures of pretty female asian receptionists .....
Thanks for the education - have never seen one before.
