PSA posted on multiple platforms this morning about an Economy level allocation event at $50 per card. Did anyone else get in? I was lucky enough to get a few. Not sure how long the window will stay open as I am sure demand will be strong.

I thought they were going to email invitations or whatever? Was I just supposed to be refreshing the PSA site every minute?
They posted around 11AM EST and the event was live at 12PM EST. Here is the post:

I was in line and then went from 500 to 1500 in line. 14 minutes to 66 minutes expected wait.
Got a 5 card allocation after being bumped twice to the back of the line. Thanks for the heads up, Jason.
"I thought they were going to email invitations or whatever?"
Thats what I thought too.
I will wait. Not many people are going to get vintage graded for $50 to $100 per card, only the new cards with the auto's. after those dry up....
What is the expected turnaround time on economy? I got a 5 card allocation.
3 months according to the FAQs

What's the value limit on $50 per card?
$999
had no clue. Oh well.
Getting in line for $50 per card economy? I'll wait the flippers out. No thanks.

Interestingly, their complete through dates haven't changed in a real long time.
Maybe, but not me. I see the value even in $50 a pop. PSA stated on social media that all complete through dates will be through 2/1/21 by the end of December 2021.
I didn't see this post till 2:30pm PST, clicked the links and got an allocation without waiting... Maybe it's 5 per all collector's club members accounts.
I guess P. T. Barnum was right...

I was on line. #973
My guess when it ended was 750 allocations (5 cards each) were handed out…
This was just before closing…
…and lastly…
…interesting process.

Just for further info, I got on line about 20 minutes before the event opened according to the countdown clock on the screen. I saw the session load and received that number which counted down and then closed around when I was 180ish in line, when it said ‘event closed’.
I did not receive an allocation so I based the guess of 750 on that but after reading other’s experiences I am not sure that’s correct anymore.
Congrats to those who got them!

Imagine five years ago if you were told people would be agonizing on line to be given five subs at $50 each for a three month turnaround? I never would have believed it, and I still have a hard time getting my mind around it.
It was for Regular Service at $50 per.
I think it’s a good effort on PSA’s part; I’m not sure there’s going to be a perfect way to reopen because there’s a lot of pent up demand. I only heard because a friend who is a social media maven (and very good guy) tipped me off.
I’m glad I participated because knowledge is power. And it sounds like these events will continue to be tinkered with in terms of price point and methods of announcement.
Finding a better way to do things always takes some trial and error when you are trying to break new ground.
I try to be tactfully critical of PSA on these boards when I think it is warranted. This looks like a good effort - a significant price break from what’s available otherwise, an equal chance for all enthusiasts and gathered information about who signed up, when they signed up and then the number of people who follow through.
Plus, based on my reading of the FAQs, these people would seem to be unable to get more until they’ve ‘used’ all of the ones they got so maybe some people who got shut out last time will get a better chance the next time.
It’s certainly not perfect* but a good start, I think.
*I mean, I got shut out, so clearly it’s not perfect. 😂😂😂

^^^
It was for economy. They are having an event next week for regular. That’ll be $100 per.
Gotcha, appreciate it.
