RE: Storing small ANACS holders

MWallaceMWallace Posts: 4,219 ✭✭✭✭✭

I know there are boxes that'll hold small ANACS holders (I love those holders). But is there a neat way to store them in PCGS, NGC, or Whitman boxes that are made for the larger PCGS, NGC, etc. holders.

I just put slabs in boxes.... I do not worry about special fit or neatness. I have a lot of PCGS green boxes, and while other TPG slabs may not 'fit', they still go in, one way or another. I am not afflicted with OCD. ;) Cheers, RickO

I remember a few years ago seeing a soft plastic frame for the small ANACS slabs that would make them the size of NGC/PCGS slabs so they could be stored in NGC/PCGS boxes.

I’ll see what my son can do with a 3D print. Remember there are two sizes of small ANACS holders. The red hologram reverse ones are a little smaller.

I store mine in one of those red cardboard coin boxes that is designed for 2x2's. They fit perfectly but the cover sits a bit higher.

They were purposely made with a 2" width so they could easily fit in a standard box for flips, 2"X2" cardboard staple holders, and coin envelopes.

I just put them in against each other with a pcgs holder to keep them tight. As they aren't in and out of the safe much, they are perfectly safe.

eBay has those generic blue, hold most any slab. 2 years ago I received a couple and being an inexpensive import I was suspect.
2years later and they appear to be good. They do hold pcgs, ngc and newer anacs ( don’t have any ICG so I can’t say) lid fits tight (. Interesting that the slabs are angled and the box is longer ( storage). 😉

@CoinHoarder how many slabs fit in that box? I'm looking for NGC size, but I want a couple that would hold 25 coins or 1 box that would hold 50 for my slabbed Roosies.

You can "wrap" a small anacs holder in a 2.5" flip then slide it into a slot of a PGCS box.

I'll give it a try. That's the kind of info I'm looking for. I have the Intercept boxes that hold small ANACS holders, but I want to mix them in with PCGS, NGC, etc. holders.

    Thanks.

If you want to mix them I put a NGC/PCGS in every other slot and the anacs in between them.

I have a few of the ANACS holders to fit quite well into the PCGS boxes. I believe it's the rounded top ANACS holders that fit? Those "soap box" holders fit in any box. Lol

The early ANACS "white" holders are smaller than the later "white" holders. Coin World made boxes that were intended for the later "white" holders but I am not sure if they are still available.
