Overall quality the last two years has been lacking. I know they are struggling with covid (we all are), but I've sent back a number of proof coins (especially AI dollars) that are flawed. A little lower standard for unc coins, but issues like your set are unacceptable. And all the quality issues with the Morgan dollars after waiting months for them.
The coin is a friggin mess. I’m going to open the packaging and take the best pictures I can. The printing next to edge looks like scrambled eggs. We will know what the edges look like.
Should have them posted later today.
Look at Kennedy 🙀. That’s not the plastic. It’s horrible

I've seen lots of of SDs with that effect. The coin is lying flat on a surface and against a solid surface, and the piece with the lettering is pushed against it. The coin turns against the surface and picks up those scrapes.
That's why the proof dollars have lettered collars so there is no rolling process.
Here is the best I can do. Funk on obverse doesn’t seem to be part of edge lettering. The lettering on the reverse next to edge looks weird. The Kennedy’s trash. Removing it from holder is helpful. Better pictures. I don’t have the setup to take pictures that are any better than these. Thanks. I’ll put the dimes in my album and start doing singles. Plus I have a forum member helping with the early years.
I was assuming the battered and chattered central elements on a few of the coins meant defective plastic.
I was wrong.
The edge lettering is funky because it didn’t go through the machine properly. If I’m not mistaken, the letters are supposed to be equidistant. “R I B” isn’t and part of the lettering is too close to one edge
These are a disappointment. I just opened a few different sets and overall the quality is poor. dings, marks, scratches, fingerprints, just overall no care put into these sets. I was hoping for good 66-67 quality. I am lucky to have 64 quality. What a waste.
I popped the dimes for my album ( junk) and threw the rest away with that dang spotted reverse proof AI 4- coin. Junk jar is shocked by supposedly new coins hitting the bucket.
I set up to take magnificent pictures of the multitude of problems. Quiet time, late night, looked at it and figured it made me sick so I decided to not post or talk much about it.
I was absolutely shocked

For me personally, If a coin does not contain gold or silver, I am not interested.
I bought my last uncirculated coin set from the mint back in 2006.
How much of that chatter do you think is just the plastic holder? It really looks like the coin is just a mess.
