Capped bust 50 ct coins….anyone know if they have been counterfeited at all?

Yes counterfeits exist. I don't know which years thou.

Yes, have seen several diff dates over the years come into shop, also, the new alibaba had put out several in recent years. A lady almost got me one evening, she had called to tell me she had a few older halves after close, being the sun goes down fairly early, i didnt open up the full shop as too many thing to open to get to my office, so I met here in the dim light lobby, She had 1-2 legit coins, but a couple of bo-bo's . I had to take a second look at better light in car to detect them being off, they were good at glance counterfeits.
I had many fakes over the years. I don't remember having a quality one though.

I’m familiar with contemporary bust half fakes, which are collectible in their own right, but haven’t seen any modern fakes.
Umm… probably all years. Counterfeits definitely exist.
I would say there is no limit on what counterfeiters may/have produced. If it can be made and sold for a profit, it will be done. Cheers, RickO
