I hate to call out deceitful sellers but GEEZE!

So here is the listing. Most would think it's a typo and start looking for the scrape!

So I messaged the seller and asked for a picture of the coin in the holder.

Had trouble saving the pic so had to do a screenshot!
The photo is in the listing now
confusing
Good on him!
eBay has saved pictures they throw in sometimes, not seller
Why do you hate to call out deceitful sellers?

Wow... certainly much different than the dual pictures first listed. What garbage....Cheers, RickO
It’s a Genuine Scrape not a fake scrape🙈

I think it is genuine scrap.
Don't forget the $ 4.60 shipping fee for this treasure.
There's endless junk on ebay, and there is a price to everything. Unfortunately there are "spam" listings.
This was a very strong seller's market; personally I think the market is saturated. Coins with a good shot at selling are much better dates, great values, etc..
But the slab alone must be worth $10 at least!
Was that post meant for this subject/thread?

Just to be clear! When I posted this the only pic was the true-veiw!
I've seen a lot much more worse than this one. Seems ok to me, nothing deceitful now. IT is obviously not an MS64 - probably just an oversight. Posting counterfeits or altered date coins are people trying to deceive most of the time, but sometimes they are just unknowingly posting stuff for others and don't know any better. You have to figure out what is happening..
I think that the rule for listing coins on eBay is that you have to post a picture of each side of the coin and for slabbed coins you need to show the front and back of the slab. You can correct me if I am wrong on this.
looks like a waste of 1's & 0's

Oops, let my mind wander while at the keyboard.
Silly question:
Who the heck would send this in for slabbing?

rec78. Your probably correct but I see a lot of eBay listings. I also see quite a few with one picture only. Interesting question 😉

Hi Frank, it's the same type of folks that would send in 40's-50's circulated cents, ref the PCGS pop report.
https://www.pcgs.com/pop/detail/lincoln-cent-wheat-reverse-1909-1958/46/0?t=2&p=MS&pn=1
And we had someone inquiring recently on 60's cents on whether they should be sent in for grading.
You're correct about the "scrap" thing.
Pete
Perhaps it was also sent in under the error service

Definitely seems like a small waste of money to slab it, but as someone else said, people send in the strangest things. I once saw a 1979 SBA in PCGS AU53. I could not imagine why, but that is what it was. Maybe it was for sentimental reasons. Only way to know is to ask the submitter.
I've seen that too. I think the grading service may have had special where if you submit 10 coins, there's a price discount and the submitter only had 8 or 9 coins that he needed graded, so he threw in some pocket change to get the number of coins up to ten.
