NEWP Bechtler GTG Revealed in first post

I have a hard time with these. I think die cracks add character and this one has some character.

I don't see much in the way of wear on the piece; probably an AU. I've never seen one that I remember in person.
Looking forward to seeing the result. My (and I do mean) WAG 45.
Those look like planchet flaws to me, not die cracks. I'm in the 40-45 range.
AU Details, and I like it very much 👍🏻
Mr_Spud
XF details bent.
I've always wanted one of these.
I'd guess AU details.
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
Hint, it is straight graded in an OGH.

Cool, I guess the planchet flaw/lamination/die cracks just make it look like it is bent. I’ll go with 50 then
Mr_Spud
No, it's definitely bent. Not surprising. PCGS often net grades damaged private gold issues, just because so much of it is damaged.

That's typical of Bechtler's and overlooked. That was because they stuck to the dies and had to be pried off many times.
Edit to add @MrEureka
Nice! Details.
Not too sure how to grade these but I was thinking 40

Nice old gold and scarce. I can completely overlook the condition/grade on a piece such as this one. Cheers, RickO

Planchet cracks. Bent. VF.

I don't really know the grading points on these, but my uneducated guess is EF40.
I like it, must be in a 35 holder is my guess.

You got lucky. I had one less planchet flaws than yours and PCGS Details it for planchet flaws. Cracked it out sent it to NGC and got a grade.
I'd try cac with the coin, very original how they like it.
Does CAC like bent netgraded coins?
FWIW I would have guessed XF40.
Thanks, there is that. I think our host got it about right.
