Any recent experience with DHL coming from Germany

Package not moving at the point of export for a month. Any similar experiences?

Do you know if they shipped by air or sea? If latter, there's quite a significant delay since they have to make sure containers are full before sealing and shipping, plus the time at sea, customs, etc... When dealing with Germany I often specify air shopping and pay extra. Well worth it.

I received a parcel sent via DHL/Deutsche Post at the premium tier level this week. Total transit time was like 4 days versus the normal ~14 for the regular service level.

I haven't had anything take a over a month since last year/beginning of this year. I've been getting maybe 2 per month. So it's a decent sample size.

Everything is going by air these days. I think the sea shipment situation has passed. The regular service levels seem to get more delays at Frankfurt Flughafen and can perhaps get delayed going through customs on the other end.

Won the coin Sept 15. Paid invoice on the 18th. Shipped with tracking 3 days later. Received Dec 7th. Sent with DHL, delivered by USPS. At 930 pm.

It’s gotta be the slowest ever at this point right now. Covid, customs, supply chain personnel shortages, holiday glut. It’s like waiting on a grading submission, forget about it. I’ve got a few coming from Germany DHL at the moment too, email said posted, thats good enough for me. One day it will be here, surprise happy new coin day for me! Still, waiting on a coin worth the hassle,,, time ticks like a treadmill minute vs a snooze min.

I was completely amazed yesterday when a Registered parcel from (non-metropolitan) France showed up in my box in only a week from when it was sent. It never even showed up in tracking.

Glad all went well sometimes customs can drag things on for well over a month. I prefer FeDex or UPS they have their people get it threw customs much much faster at a fee of course. UPS brokerage can be expensive but it is worth it. FeDex is the best.

I think DHL, FedEx and UPS are all good for international shipping . I used all of them but I use FedEx more often.

They all have their place, including Registered (Postal) Mail. Registered is especially good for <$500 items.

UPS doesn't do international delivery, but they often have interchange agreements with local carriers (like Yamato in Japan). So Yamato would pass the parcel off to UPS in the US and vice versa.
