Mike McCarthy essentially guarantees victory over Washington

This should be fun, I love a good sports essential guarantee.

I picked Dallas to win, this is a must win for them.

Well there you have it - Washington will win with a last second field goal..............

Well he just gave a Redskin Team some fire under their rear end. They have been playing really well while the Cowboys have not.

I think Washington wins and takes the division. Heinecky or whatever his name is has gotten a lot better over the past several games.

My interest in this game has gone up tremendously now, this guarantee has got me pumped, I can't wait for this. I think I'll call this game, "The Guarantee Bowl." 🤔

Perky,...I don't want to go over this again with you.......one more time! There is no REDSKIN team. It's THE WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM!!!! Live it, love it, and learn it!!!

This is big, this is huge, I've instructed my family that I am not to be disturbed during The Guarantee Bowl, I want to see every snap.

What will be on the menu for this game Double D? Will you order your lovely wife to cook you something hearty?

I haven't decided yet, but I'm leaning towards delivery pizza, I don't want her making noise in the kitchen when I'm trying to concentrate on the game. 🤔

But Papa John's better not accidentally put onions on my hamburger pizza again like they did last time, if I find one onion on that pizza, so help me god.

I made up this poster for the big game Sunday, I didn't have much to work with, but it will have to do.

Mustache Jerry Jones is very nervous about this game, he doesn't like Mike making guarantees like this.

Any injury differential between the two?

I'm pretty sure the Redskins will win. That's why I picked the Dallas Football Team. Got to get back to DFL. :)

Listening to what he said, and listening to local sports pundits discuss this ad nauseam, I am actually surprise by all of the hot takes and push back to what McCarthy said.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Oh, Ron Rivera said the guarantee is a big mistake, things have gotten nasty, I love it!

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

    I say the Redskins win

  • thisistheshowthisistheshow Posts: 9,386 ✭✭✭✭✭

Maybe somebody from the inside encouraged them to spice up the old rivalry. Or maybe McCarthy was trying to instill some confidence. I don't hate it. This Cowboys team is flailing a bit. It's sink or swim time.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

I think this is a bad move on Mike McCarthy's part, the Redskins are going to take this personal and I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Cowboys lose this game.

This is happening today, there's no escape, the moment of truth has arrived. It's Guarantee Bowl Sunday.

  • BillJonesBillJones Posts: 33,949 ✭✭✭✭✭

As a Philadelphia Eagles fan, I have no love loss for either of these teams. If I had to pick, I'd like to see the "former Indians" do in the Cowboys. The Cowboys have been overly arrogant since the days of Tom Landry. At one time I used to say that I would only root for the Cowboys if they were playing al Qaeda, but I have softened that position a little.

We are getting funny videos instead

North Carolina isn't showing the game either, I'm being forced to watch the Panthers play, this is a nightmare!

I just checked the score online, and Dallas is leading by a score of 11-0 late in the 1st quarter.

Typical NFL, Washington and Heineke are playing like garbage and Dallas is acting like they are good again

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

I can't believe Washington is playing like this, and at home, you would think they would show up today ready for war.

The "What The F's" really stink. They are a terrible team. The final score should be 45 to 0. They are def heading for 4 straight losses now and possibly 5 straight. (The giants should have beaten them the first time). So the WFT will end up with a 6-11 record. They always just barely win enough games to keep them from getting a good QB in the draft. On second thought even if they had the #1 pick in the draft, they'd still screw it up and pick a loser.

Irrelevant to what McCarthy did but how about the Raiders team dance party on the Chiefs logo pregame? That started a fire they don’t seem like they can contain lol

Cowboys healthy D-line all together for the first time since week 1 is the reason for Washington playing like garbage today so far, and when they are intact they ARE good, it's no act. Before today, the trio of Parsons, Lawrence, and Gregory have been together for 28 of 809 defensive snaps (3%).

As a Cowboys fan it's been frustrating watching all these injuries happening to this D line this season knowing as good as Parsons is panning out just what it would be like with the whole group healthy for a stretch, which is near impossible in the NFL as physical as the DL position is.

    Parsons is absolutely a stud.

Offensively the Cowboys have an elite offense but Dak has struggled the past few games compared to being so hot out of the gate. I think Dallas is better than what they have shown for the most part. But way too inconsistent.,I’ve always liked Dallas so no disrespect at all

Yes, the Chiefs are destroying the Raiders, I was watching that game but I turned it because it's a beatdown, 38-3 right now.

No disrespect taken, I agree, Dak and the offense have been inconsistent no doubt about it. If this offense was clicking to it's potential it could possibly be 45-0 at this point. Zeke playing with a bruised knee since 3 weeks ago hasn't helped but it's not an excuse, all NFL teams have to deal with injuries.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Washington finally scored, it's 24-8 now, it's probably too late now.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Watching the Panthers play is enough to make you puke, we're losing to the Falcons 26-14.

    ..............
As far as I remember, Jason Garrett used to often play catch with Dak after practices. Stand there, throw the ball. Accuracy on display. This was to help Dak's accuracy. Garrett's passes were always pinpoint, easily caught. Dak's passes would frequently require Garrett to stretch his arms or move his body. My point is that Dak is not the most accurate passer. Garrett was, but he was a career backup. Dak has other traits that have gotten him where he is. If he could fix the accuracy, watch out.

We got the Kansas City - Las Vegas and Washington - Dallas games, both stinkers. It was first time I shut down the TV because of boring games this season.

Washington tried to mount a comeback, but it's too late. They should have started the game with that fire inside them.
