Che_GrapesChe_Grapes Posts: 1,884 ✭✭✭✭✭

The best one will get a free gift from yours truly - expires dec 5 (Sunday) so get those milk spot coins posted and good luck to all. Winner gets a UNC 1964 cent and a few 05 Lewis and Clark UNC nickels (yeah, some crap I’m trying to get rid of)... but hey, who here doesn’t like free coins? If you have a really good one I might throw in a silver dime or something ...
good luck my numismatic brethren

Great idea for a thread. I don’t have anything to share, though. It would be interesting to see some of those 5 ounce packs with spotting. Especially in a 70 holder.

Whew, that’s a moldy Eagle. Look on the bright side, you didn’t pay 70 money for it.

I dont have any coins with milk spots. I am wondering how much milk spots hurt the value of an otherwise nice coin thou.

Hey gumby. I’m gunna guess that once a spot appears inside a slab, the value is going to plummet. I used to think little spot, little drop in grade. Now it seems that with the possibility of it spreading ( look at above ase) once it starts it’s not going to get better 😉

I'll have to go dig it up but I got a roll of maples back in the day that look like they took a swim in a gallon of 1/2 & 1/2.

I just received this back from grading, surprised by the grade, PR69DCAM, 2003 1&1/2 Euro.

Just received my very generous prize(s) from @Che_Grapes I will cherish them forever - Just kidding :D but I will put them in albums and possibly send in a couple for grading (especially the tough 05 D's)
Thanks so much for a cool contest and cool prizes!
PS. Heather broke my Fever request I placed just days before your comment, otherwise I'd still be in bed :)

  • Che_GrapesChe_Grapes Posts: 1,884 ✭✭✭✭✭

Glad you liked them - not sure if worth grading but they are all uncirculated... !
I love the D nickels as well - those came from a fresh roll. Enjoy!
PS even with the name change you’ll always be coin scratch fever to me...!!
Cheers and thanks again for showing the milk coin - that is a special coin imo!!

  • CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 8,993 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was just over at the price guide confirming my comment about the tough 05 D's. PCGS has none in 67 but In the auction records HA shows one particular Bison at 67 from another grading company that is in no way a 67.
