Antonio Brown and two Bucs players are suspended for three games

Antonio Brown and three Bucs players are being suspended for three games for violating covid protocols.

NFL suspends three players, including Bucs' Antonio Brown, for violating Covid-19 protocols

The National Football League has suspended three players, including Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown, for three games without pay following a league investigation that determined the three violated Covid-19 protocols. Buccaneers safety Mike Edwards and free agent wide receiver John Franklin III, who has been on the Bucs' practice squad, were the other players suspended.

In a Thursday news release, the NFL said its review of recent allegations that the players had "misrepresented their vaccination status" had supported the claims.

NFL reviewing accusations Buccaneers' Antonio Brown obtained fake Covid-19 vaccination cards

On November 18, the NFL announced it was reviewing accusations that Brown had owned fake Covid-19 vaccination cards in an attempt to usurp NFL protocols. The accusations were made by Steven Ruiz, Brown's former at-home chef in a Tampa Bay Times exclusive report.

All three players have accepted the discipline and fines and will not appeal the decision, according to the NFL statement.

Last month the NFL fined Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and receiver Allen Lazard after it found the two players did not follow league Covid-19 protocols.

The NFL determined that Rodgers and Lazard attended a Halloween party despite being unvaccinated, a violation of protocols prohibiting unvaccinated players from gathering outside of team facilities in a group of more than three players.

The Buccaneers released a statement on Thursday stating, "We appreciate the League's timely handling of this matter and recognize the importance of the health and safety protocols that have been established. We will continue to implement all league COVID-19 protocols."

Brown's attorney, Sean Burstyn, tells CNN, "Mr. Brown is vaccinated and continues to support the vaccine for any person for whom it is appropriate. The NFL made its determination and, instead of going through the drawn out and distracting process of challenging the outcome, Mr. Brown wrapped this up promptly and he will use this time as an opportunity to treat his ankle injury.

"Mr. Brown will be motivated, well rested, and in the best shape of his life when he returns in week 16."

How can you suspend them and not suspend Aaron Rodgers?

Aaron Rodgers violated covid protocols, he was out at a Halloween party dancing around without a mask on and he spoke to the media without a mask on.

They fined Rodgers. And just like fining large corporations, it's a laughable punishment.

Aaron Rogers is NFL royalty and a big ratings draw. Therefore, “Some pigs are more equal than other pigs.”

Brown has been out for weeks with an sprained ankle. The report is that it is a high ankle sprain, which can be nasty. Still it’s seemed like a long time. Now he’s out for three more games. He is an important target for Brady when he’s playing, but maybe he has tried the patience of another team too much.

The loss of Mike Edward’s could be more important than it seems.

Antonio Brown committed a federal crime by falsifying his vaccine card and lying to the NFL. Rodgers never lied to the NFL about his vaccination status. Their situations bear only a cursory resemblance to each other.

could be a blessing in disguise for tampa. this will keep brown from trying to come back too soon from the ankle, hopefully in time to get in game shape for the playoff push and be a fresh body rather than one beat down from the 17 game season.

That’s fair. But do you agree Rodgers should have been suspended for at least a game for violating Covid protocol? I think so

Don't get me wrong, I think Antonio Brown should be suspended for his actions, but I think Aaron Rodgers should also have been suspended for violating covid protocols. It just seems like Aaron Rodgers is getting favoritism because he's Aaron Rodgers.

    “Woke”
    “Cancel Culture”

    He doesn’t like the protocols.
    “immunized”

    He misled

As far as not following the protocols without a vaccination - one game cancel culture

But also examine the team. He either had a card or not. He probably didn’t card. So, the team needs a fine. If he did fake card or lie we’re talking more games.

I wish he would have just worn the mask. Play ball on an easy requirement.

They didn't need Brown today anyway so let him heal for a couple of more weeks.

They are contemplating cutting Brown I’m reading. Brown is high maintenance and an annoying human being but the Bucs are better with him on the field in my opinion

Brown hasn't played in a game since mid October. He's not really a need for this team, more like a luxury at this point especially come playoff time.

He may be a luxury pain in the a$$ but he sure is nice to have on a team for what he can do.

I’m not so sure, calling him a rapist is pretty harsh especially knowing where these accusations of misconduct are coming from.

He is not being accused by any nice and innocent librarian/school teacher types, these chicks that he involves himself with are gangsta type girls who are looking for a “Baller” and all the money that comes with them

If the Bucks could get Brown back and playing at the level at which he has been capable, they will hard to beat in the post season. Brown adds the last element to Brady’s passing game that makes to Bucks offense overwhelmingly potent.

I’m not sure if the comment is supposed to be serious but the woman who accused him of sexual assault and rape was one of his trainers. Beyond that your comment gives off a real mysoginistic vibe.

I also forgot about the battery charges involving a moving truck driver where he plead no contest. Pretty minor compared to rape and sexual assault but still another violent crime. But Tom Brady says that he is like brother to him so I guess he must be a good guy. Or maybe they are just both awful people. I guess we’ll never know.

So you must be from San Francisco or something to get “Vibes” that I’m against woman over my post lol

So this “Trainer” was sexually assaulted TWICE in 2017 then raped in 2018? If AB was such a monster why did she feel it was ok to go back to working with him multiple times???

And why settle for $100K? That’s like 65K in pocket after the lawyers take their cut, if she was that angry why isn’t she keeping up the fight until Brown has been indicted or thrown in jail?

@cgfalcone I am a giant Tom Brady fan. I am the first to admit that I am smart enough to know to not choose my heroes, or men I look up to and admire, by looking at their sports accomplishments. Nor can I choose to only root for perfect men, because then I would root for no one. Brady has many admirable qualities that can be applied to our lives as inspiration. Admittedly, I was unhappy with his unsportsmanlike refusal to shake hands after some losses. I do not consider him a cheater, but I know some do. I also know of many people, and even many Patriots fans, who speak poorly of TB12 medical opinions and of Brady and his trainer, calling them snake oil salesman. I do not feel that way. My own personal beliefs about health and medicine are very strong and lead me to be in disagreement with many people, including people here.

Antonio Brown, as I have said here before, is involved in a lot of incidents that end with him refusing to pay people. He also seems to not be able get his emotions in check and subsequently acts in ways not necessarily appropriate. I do hope that Brady has been able to be a good influence on him. Brady has talked openly about wanting to help Brown improve his life.

Agreed. The guy took a potentially mentally ill AB under his wing and moved him in with his wife and kids and people want to crucify him for a point nothing PSI in a football.

I get that to be a fan of any team you are probably going to have to root for some bad people. I’ve cheered on teams with athletes that have done some bad things but I’m not going to try to defend their actions. You say Brown acts in ways that are not necessarily appropriate but I think stealing from people (that is what not paying bills is), physically assaulting people, throwing furniture of a balcony that could have maimed or killed someone and sexually assaulting someone goes beyond “not necessarily appropriate.” I find Brady actively courting this guy to come to his team pretty gross. I guess some people see Brady’s actions as that of a saint just trying to mentor this misguided soul but from my point of view Brady just wants to win and if he has to get his team to sign a guy who is probably a rapist, a thief and a general menace to society and then try to whitewash his reputation then that is what he is going to do. I don’t think Brady is necessarily a monster like Brown. I think he is just an insensitive idiot whose only focus is winning. OK, I’ve ranted enough about Brady so I’ll let everyone get back to their conversation and won’t badmouth him further.

“Vibes” was a bad word choice since there was really no interpretation necessary. You suggest that only certain types of women can be believed about rape. You also say that the woman in question is “gangsta” and therefore not credible. I’m not sure what is gansta about his trainer other than the fact that she is black. You also suggest she can’t be believed because she continued to associate with him after the first instance of alleged assault and the low amount of the settlement but it is very common for sexual assault victims to continue to associate with their abusers and for victims not to pursue charges or to drop them after they have been brought. I’m not going to say it is impossible she is lying but false reports of rape are rare and the alleged abuser in this case is a known violent criminal and a known liar

False reports of rape are rare? I’m sorry but I’d like to know your qualifications to
Make that statement because it is absolutely false. It happens quite often along with many other false claims.

I will put my 20 years in law Enforcement against your CU posting opinions btw

Also I’m curious why you feel that “Gangsta” is a trait for Black people? Or his trainer for that matter. My specific statement was he involves himself with “Gangsta” type woman and that was in regards to the numerous complaints made by him by the different woman that have accused him of things, not necessarily this “Rape” accusation by this trainer.

And right wrong or indifferent if a “Trainer” was a true professional she would be sexually assaulted once and then she would not book anymore sessions with this guy. We are not talking about a battered woman in a relationship here. We are talking about a woman who was hired by AB and chose to continue a business relationship with him after being sexually assaulted not only once but twice then a third time and claims she was raped? I’m not sorry and I don’t buy it.

I will admit I am not personally qualified to make that determination but neither are you and the consensus among people who study the issue is that false reports of rape are rare.
I assumed you were talking about the trainer when you said “gansta “ because you started your comment talking about how it is unfair to call him a rapist and the trainer is the only one who accustom of rape. Seemed pretty clear to me. If you weren’t talking about her your comment made no sense.
It is not just women who are battered and assaulted by their partners that continue to associate with their abusers. It happens in other contexts including professional relationships. The fact that you are unaware of this and have these attitudes and are in law enforcement is truly terrifying. You disgust me and I’m not going to engage with you further.
