Hey that’s just down the hill in the big city 🌃. Denver suburbs 😉

I am so old that I actually remember that cartoon.
That is very cool. Thanks for sharing it.

1950-D nickel in VG/F for $18.50.
Does anyone know what that would be in today's dollars?

Thanks!
The trick is to find a 1950-D nickel in VG.
They're rarer in low grades than they are in Gem mint state.

I remember seeing that cartoon in the 1960's in a different publication. I'm surprised I can still remember it.

1950-D was the rage back then. That price, and the 1939-D don't surprise me a bit.
Nobody buying and selling 1964 90% silver coins in 1965... and they were still minting them!
Anyone want to send a dollar to PO Box 5669 in Minneapolis?
That would be $7.35 today...
In 1965 I had two toddler daughters and was working 60-70 hours a week.... Was not paying much attention to coins during that period....other than earning them. Cheers, RickO
Funny! I am a bit younger as I was 4 when this was published and did not start collecting until about 10 years later but miss picking up a magazine like Western Coin Collector and perusing the ads to see how much various coins cost. I did occasionally buy something minor and would send cash through the mail as I did not have a checking account, plus I did not want my parents to know I was spending my paper route money on coins while complaining I did not have any money for other things!. The coins that I bought were always shipped to me and it was 'Christmas in July' when one came in!
