(Revealed in comments) GTG 1954-S Jefferson Nickel Toner Guess the Grade

I really enjoy the guess the grade posts submitted by other forum members. They serve as practice and skill honing for grading from photos, for whatever that is worth. The TrueViews hit today on one of my recent orders. This is my first venture into Jefferson Nickel grading so I'd like to gauge what others feel this coin's grade is. I'll post results sometime later in the day tomorrow (I promise!) Thank you!

Beautiful coin... I have no idea if its a 65 or a 67 but Ill split the baby and also go MS66
Nice coin and as said a bit mushy, but I would feel a 66 would be warranted.

Pretty coin.
Only one complete step. But that is actually better than average for the 1954-S issue.
The toning notches the grade upwards.
I'll say 65 because of the soft strike.

66 would be maximum grade due to weaknessa of the strike.
MS 66+ …that is very nice color for a non-silver nickel!

I thought anything above 65 needed a full strike so 65
The strike appears to be pretty much in line with what I have seen on these mid-1950s S-mint Jeffersons. Regardless, the coin is gorgeous!

Can you post a picture of the coin in its holder
That would just give away the grade!

That's a very nice looking Jefferson nickel. No idea as to the grade, but appreciate the eye appeal!
sheesh. what a nice jeffie!

I would guess a 65 on that nickel.... Very soft strike, interesting flow lines in Monticello.... Cheers, RickO
I’m in the Ms-64/5

Time for the big reveal! It seems the guesses sort of average out if not bias toward the grade assigned, which is MS66. As they say it is hard to judge a coin by a photo, but what I can say about this one is that it is quite lustrous and is all color. The TrueView makes it look as though some of the rim toning is terminal brown, but it's not! The strike/level of die wear is typical for mid-50's as was mentioned, and I have seen much worse in 67 holders.
In the end, I think the coin is deserving of 66+ if not higher because of the exceptional coloration (for the date/mm), flashy luster, and being nearly mark-free. Only under 10x magnification do a few minor marks show that are imperceptible to the naked eye.
For reference, here are photos of a close relative of the subject coin that also graded MS66, A 1953-P with nice color but does actually have a tinge of the terminal color at the rim, is arguable more well-struck but just barely, but does have some minor visible marks that justify the 66 grade.
Thank you to all who provided guesses! One more thought, regarding CAC on this coin, I wish CAC accepted ciculation strike Jeffersons but they are limited to only early proofs and only three of the major varieties such as 39 double Monticello,
I missed it by just thaaaaaat much.
