Similar But Different

I recently got these two coins in at the same time that are remarkable similar but have different errors.
I found it interesting and thought I would share.

2018 defective clad layer
1967 planchet streak error, which my guess means an alloy mix problem.
Would a streak error be a defective clad layer?
Do 40% Kennedy's have a copper colored clad layer?
I also say improper alloy mix of the planchet stock. The wider one is very nice. Peace Roy

Yes.
1965–1970, some 1776–1976 San Francisco-minted coins: outer layer of 80% silver, 20% copper surrounding core of 79% copper, 21% silver, totaling 60% copper, 40% silver.
That’s from Wikipedia
It is mentioned in this message from president Johnson to congress

You can sometimes see the three layers on clad half dollars
Wow. Those are neat!

JFK snake face. Neat regardless of happenstance. Die crack in hair also.

You need to show me a photo of the copper core which you did not.
I googled and I found this 1967 missing clad layer error certified ATS and the color is silver ....

That's the 'typical' look on the reverse of that split Kennedy. I see no problem with the label or weight. (Cited from: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/interesting-ngc-attribution-1967-40-silver-half-dollar-incorrect.362742/)
and in the photo on that CT link, that darker center is typical center look for an circulated 40%. However, there are plenty of 40% that do not show a darker center on the edge.
anyway, just as mentioned on the label, there are clad layers to the 40%. it seems possible that there could be copper streaking across it, jut as with the CuNi clad above.
Nice ones!
Nice looks on these errors!
They remind me of this one!
I was looking at this and searching for coins within a certain price range, but when I went to buy it, it disappeared! Later I found out that my viewing this coin cause the price to more than double! Check your price ranges if you're viewing a coin in a price range and it disappears but is not in the sold list!
This is a nice Jefferson too
Imagine building a collection of these?

Those are interesting. I have never come across a coin with the copper 'streak' error. Cheers, RickO
Occasionally I go thru my BIN coins and check prices. I never lower the BIN price. I only raise BIN prices.
There has been a huge move in error coin prices upward. Honestly, I have not had the time to go thru my 600 plus coin inventory to raise prices

An impossible set for sure. You could try. I only have one other. It is also the only known (to me) major error on a Chester Dollar .....
