When you're buying several things and some odd, cheap, fun coin catches your eye and you throw it on the pile for virtually nothing (or face value). This was mine recently. I bought it for the 'holder' of course.
I think many of us have done this, so post yours if you've got 'em.

I have not experienced 'throw ins'... Shops and shows I purchased at when in the PNW never offered any... Of course, I have always been a 'picky' buyer... so likely did not build up enough of a business relationship. Cheers, RickO
