Can a coin have mint damage or post mint damage and still grade ms 67?

This dime appears to have damage to the bottom of the faces of the bands yet graded MS67. What do you think?

Need a loupe for that one.
Aren’t bag marks and reed marks a form of post mint damage?
This seems like a piece of the metal is missing, like it was gouged out
A tiny contact mark in a non-prime focal area that's probably not visible or barely visible with the naked eye is allowable on a MS67.

Here's a PCGS MS67 + with a lot of marks all over the cheek & neck... for $25,000
Actually, that mark looks as if it could be the major contributor to the grade... Without it, it could be a 68. Cheers, RickO
And these marks are in prime focal areas. Don't forget that there are three higher grades so an MS67 doesn't have to be perfect.

No there isnt 3 grades above this... there's never been a MS 69 or MS70 Peace $. And out of 666,782 graded Peace $ there are only 2 MS68s.
This is one of the highest graded Peace $ ever to be graded by PCGS. Only 26 out of 666,782 have achieved the lofty grade of MS67+
I'm talking about the grading scale in general. There is an MS68, MS69, and a MS70. That's three higher grades.

But if the grading scale only goes to MS68 in a particular series, you would have to assume that MS67+ should be nearly a perfect coin. I bet if I found a photo of a MS68 Peace $ it would have practically blemish free surfaces.
Toner the scale is fixed with 70 being the top. Just because a series has no examples higher than 68 does not a 70 make 😉

It's entirely possible that there is a raw MS69 Peace dollar somewhere in the world. Not likely but it's certainly possible.

How is this possible. I have seen pictures of ms 65-66 dollars that look as good. This seems to be an error unless the photo is over magnifying the marks and they are so tiny when seen in hand. I don’t even know if I like it as a 66.
My thread is about a mark that looks like a a gouge in the coin or missing metal, maybe damage not contact marks like you are saying
Fixed it for you.
This looks like mint made error and the PCGS grading standard explicitly allows surface imperfections on 70 coins.

Here's one with a noticeable ding but is not in the focal area of the coin:
