Failing to mention the VDB on the 09-S seems like a big red flag too.....

Yea, it’s “so rare” that the real thing could never look like that.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

At least it's not in the US yet.

The 2's are so obvious. Good call. I know this has probably been listed before, but what is the procedure for contacting ebay in this regard. I've contacted the seller many times, but not much comes of that.

I use the "Report Item" link on the eBay page.

The seller does indicate that the listings are replicas, but only at the very bottom of the listings. And the coins aren’t marked as such.

I did use that, but it doesn't really have a counterfeit item list, only illegal actions, etc. I thought their might be a special number for counterfeit coins information. Guess not.

It's in Palencia, Spain now. The Hobby Protection Act makes it illegal to import this in to the US without a COPY stamp, but what if someone from say the UK buys it from Spain?

Does Spain or the EU have a law like the Hobby Protection Act?

This is how I report counterfeits...
    Click on “Report Item”
Under “Report Category”, select “Prohibited And Restricted Items”
Under “Reason For Report”, near the bottom of the options, select “Stamps, Currency And Coins”
Under “Detailed Reason”, select “Replica coins, replica paper money, and replica stamps”
Click on the “Continue” tab and a “Brief Description” box opens up
You can type a message there. I usually write “Counterfeit”. Sometimes I write “No genuine examples of this date were ever produced” or “Seller had this item listed previously and you ended the listing” or other.

Great info. I've had to guess my way through this before too.

This should be a pinned thread.
