TSNS Show Report

The Tennessee State Numismatic Society holds a show twice a year ( March and November ) at the Camp Jordan Arena in Chattanooga ( East Ridge ), Tennessee. There is plenty of free parking.
I left home a little after daylight today. After about an hour I ran into fog that continued almost all the way to Chattanooga. I arrived at the show 10 minutes after it opened.
I took another look at the 1816 Large Cent in PCGS AU-58 that I saw at the CoinX show last week in St. Charles. It is a great coin that I would love to own it but at double all price guides, that I know about , I just could not pull the trigger.
One lady was selling Christmas Wreaths made out of Shredded Currency with a red bow on them for $12. They were kind of cool. I saw two tough National Bank Notes from my state but I already had them. One dealer had 10 1893-S Silver Dollars in PCGS holders grading from 3 to 40!
Some bullion prices for Ricko. Ten ounce silver bars were $285, circ Peace and 1921 Morgan Dollars were $26 ,90% silver was priced at 21.5 X and recent Silver Eagles were $36.
After several hours I had found nothing to buy and headed home. The traffic back from Chattanooga was the worse that I have seen in 50 years. It was a long day but I had fun.

I admire your ability to spend all that effort to attend a show and then leave without purchasing anything.
thanks for the report!
Glad you went - even if you came home empty handed. Done that may times!

Great report. Would love to see a pic of that large cent.

Did you happen to take pics of the Christmas Wreath...I'd love to see it.
Thanks for the report!

How would you rate the attendance?
If the dealer has a website, it may be on there. Sounds like he’s in no hurry to sell it!
@golden... Thanks for the report, and the inclusion of bullion prices. I figure silver will remain high - and perhaps a bit higher - for a while. Geo-finances are not looking good overall, so we will see what happens. I have attended many a coin show and not purchased anything. And, I have gone to gun shows, and purchased coins.
Cheers, RickO
I do not have a picture of the Christmas wreath. It was about a foot in diameter.
There were 5 tables that were rented but the dealers had not shown up. As for the public ,judging from the cars in the parking lot and the people in the bourse floor aisles, I would say the attendance was about normal.
The dealer does not have a website.
Just got back from show. Normal traffic in the aisles IMO. Spoke with a couple of Dealers who were upside down in silver bars. Seemed to be lots of raw. Had my eye on a couple of items but didn't bring anything home. Sold five coins that I was looking to move. Weather here in great today. Sorry we couldn't meet yesterday, Golden. See you at a show in the future.
