Found in attic Raider's 1st Super Bowl Newpapers & Ticket Stub /Program

Found these items in our attic, I can't find any where on internet anyone selling this super bowls newspapers (Raider's 1st) so I have no idea how to value them if I list. I did find the Ticket Stub which a pair recently went for $400. Can anyone tell me why I haven't seen newspapers being sold regarding the Raider's 1st Super bowl? and how would I go about valuing them?

I can't place a value, but newspapers are generally a pretty tough collectable. They're big, kind of awkward and don't really display well. I'd say a rule of thumb is they are typically much less valuable than one would imagine.

    $15. Those were the days!

  • I've sold many nostalgic newspapers, they are quite collectible, and sell quit easily, I'm just unfamiliar with sports related ones especially when it's hard to find this particular super bowl listed anywhere. Please site your experience in valuation would be greatly appreciated.

  • this isnt the raiders first superbowl, this is the raider first superbowl they won,

Newspapers like those are worth a few bucks to a Raiders fan but as AFL Fan said, dont possess significant value for sportscard and memorabilia collectors. The ticket stub is the most valuable of the items you posted. A pair of them just sold for $200 on ebay, so maybe $100. ($400 was the BIN list price but the actual "best offer" sale price for that pair of tickets you referred to was half that.)

ETA: Here are a couple of sports section newspapers of the Raiders XII victory which sold recently for $10.50 and $23.50. However, the fact that the one you posted above is also stamped "Souvenir Copy" would likely adversely impact value for a collector, though.

Still a cool assortment of items for a Raiders fan.

Very cool item regardless of value.

If I was a fan I’d get the headline framed or something

No clue on value other than what's been posted about ebay sales, but that's a cool find across the board. Nice

a good place to find old newspapers is when you buy an old piece of furniture, a dresser or hutch with drawers lined in Newspaper.

Back in 1996 I was doing demolition at a school and I had to take down a ceiling, I put the ladder up and pushed the first square out and a few spaces down I found an empty paper coffee cup, a crushed out cigarette and a newspaper from 1962.

I figured a worker took his break putting that ceiling up and that stuff had been there ever since

  • Grot15, where do you see those stubs sold for $200? It was an auction starting at $400 with also a best offer on that listing, the buyer offered $400 so he/she would be assured he/she wouldn't be outbid. If you click on the bids it shows that the best offer was $400 not $200. Thank you to for the links to those newspapers, looks like better headlines go for more, so a starting point would be $30 in an auction for each on those and could be driven up by fans in the auction. I guess I missed those listings because I was spelling out the month and those were listed numerically. I appreciate the links to get a gauge of a starting auction bid for them. The Souvenir copy did sell on worth point but I'm not a member so if anyone else is, would be good to know how much someone paid for that. I'll follow the thread just in case.

  • One of the newspapers sold for $100 on Worthpoint in April of this year, and yes the pair of stubs did sell for $400 (which was the best offer) on ebay. Just wanted to clarify in case others are following this thread. They are all quite rare, but those two items being the most valuable to a collector.

Tim (grote15) is correct. That eBay listing sold for $200 not $400. You’re viewing the eBay page that doesn’t show the actual best offer sale price, this site below allows you to see previous eBay sales actual ending prices.

Feel free to type in the exact eBay listing title 8n the search bar here and see for yourself.

Can anyone describe the set given which may or may not include one's awarded Super Bowl ring?
    Reason:
I have this Super Bowl 25 set NY / Buff VG condition although there's a square space the size of a ring box vacant.
    Just wondering.
