Exciting to watch this tiny beautiful seated dime go for big $$$ on Heritage tonight.

Please, early dime collectors chime in.

Jed should be proud tonight.

From the images, I am trying to understand what is going on in the right obverse field under the toning. Is that something in the planchet?
Some won't like the toning on the reverse but I think I would if I saw it in hand.
Seems like a strong price. The power of the CC mintmark rears it head...

I understand the rarity and all, but that is a dog of a coin IMO.

Nice to see this rare beauty soar high!

    Have always loved the design.

The series, in general, has absolute rarity but there has always been a allure and fascination over the Carson City mint---These coins are both very scarce and very popular.

Personally, I LIKE the toning on both sides. I bet it looks MUCH better in hand, especially the reverse.

I see a little bit of a disturbance, in the right facing field, but it is not too distracting and I feel that it is consistent with the grade.

A drink and a cigar to the high bidder! ;)

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Not a coin for me, however, I did meet Buddy Ebsen once.... My friend was installing a pool at Buddy's home in CA, and I went along one day to help when he needed an extra hand.... Nice guy and quite personable. At the time, I did not know he collected coins, or we may have talked a bit longer. Cheers, RickO

I'm sure everyone knows by now, but just in case.
Buddy was originally chosen to be the 'Tin Man' in "The Wizard of Oz". It turned out that he was allergic to the aluminized make up. Jack Haley was chosen instead. Ebsen considered it his greatest failure in his long and wonderful career.
