Brilliant Uncirculated Encased Cent

A dealer at the Houston Coin Show had about 15 of these Rexall Drug good luck charms for sale yesterday, all in the same condition. He had bought a collection that contained over 20 of them. He was selling them cheap, so I decided to buy a couple. Anyway, I've seen a lot of encased cents over the years, but these are the first truly brilliant ones I've seen, with both the coin and the encasement having full brilliant luster. The Lincoln is flat on the high points on the obverse, but I think that's from being struck into the encasement. Common? Probably so, but the photographed nicely so I thought I'd share.

If they went straight to collectors then they look like that (like the few I got years ago), but if they did time as keychains or good luck charms then they get some wear and tear.

Yeah, you're right about the Rexall's being common.
I've seen a LOT of them.
Still cool though and I pick them up when I see them if they're cheap enough.
I have not seen one in that condition since I was a kid, and at that time, they were a popular marketing tool. Nice pictures too.... Cheers, RickO
