I have a 1888 indian head cent that appears to have a 8 stamped over a 7. Am I wrong?
Got photos? This is what the 1888/7 is supposed to look like. See:https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/929923/1888-7-indian-head-cent

If you truly do, congratulations. Keep in mind, the odds are truly against you. A true rarity. Welcome to the Forum.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
As shown above, it’s a very subtle over date, with most of it removed. If you’re seeing a “7”, then it probably isn’t.
@Andrew33534... We will need pictures in order to help you.... Let us know if you confirmed in another manner, one way or the other. Cheers, RickO
You're wrong... until you post pictures to prove otherwise.
It really should be obvious that in order for us to make comment on your coin, we actually need to SEE it.
I'm not trying to be mean, but I would think that what I say makes sense.

How are we supposed to tell you anything without a picture?
Collector, occasional seller
I hope it's real. As others have already mentioned, this is a very subtle overdate and a bit more difficult to nail down on a circulated coin.
Of course you're wrong until proven guilty of actually having it.
