1888 indian head cent 8 over a 7? Am I wrong?

I have a 1888 indian head cent that appears to have a 8 stamped over a 7.
Am I wrong?

    As shown above, it’s a very subtle over date, with most of it removed. If you’re seeing a “7”, then it probably isn’t.

    It really should be obvious that in order for us to make comment on your coin, we actually need to SEE it.

    I hope it's real. As others have already mentioned, this is a very subtle overdate and a bit more difficult to nail down on a circulated coin.
