Has no ridges around the rim and seems to be thicker around. It has smooth edge, im not sure if it has been tampered with or if it is of value. I will be posting a picture later today maybe someone can help to determine

1999 P dime
Sounds like it is a dryer coin and rolled around to push up the edges. Or someone tapped on the edges.
TurtleCat Gold Dollars
my guess is 'tapped' on the edges to give it the
effect the OP is describing.

Yep... Post Mint Damage..... Often done, though usually to silver coins. Cheers, RickO
I have one as well. And it's in a high mint state quality 66/67. If it was tapped it was tapped perfectly. I'll have to find it later and post images.
I also have a 1999P Roosevelt dime but it looks like three coins to silver on each side and copper in the middle like a sandwich and the copper or tin or what not is coming through the finish of the dime can anyone help shed light on That I will show a picture also
Acid damage
Some acids will selectively erode the copper core before the cupronickel outer layers
Not an error
