Counterfeit, Cleaned, Corroded or Collectable?

moursundmoursund Posts: 3,207 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm thinking about BIN on this raw merc.
This would be for an album, not greatly worried about the grade, but I don't want to leave a 'problem' for my heirs.

Opinions on this dime?

Thanks!

    Genuine ;)

You would be better off looking for a graded one so you know you are not buying a problem. (crack it out if you want)
The price difference between a graded or raw XF-45 isn't much. ;)

Fair chance for a details grade on that one.
Be patient and keep looking there are plenty of nice examples on the market.

Looks fine to me. But agree that you should not buy a coin like that raw. The fact that you have to ask should tell you something.

VF20, with a scratch/gouge on the neck. I'll bet it's priced as a problem free coin in a higher grade.

I would not buy that one....the gouge on the neck is just too much in a focal area, for me anyway. Cheers, RickO
