I like the idea of attending a coin show within an immersive virtual 3D world, but the technology needs to be affordable and widespread in order to make the idea practical on a large scale. I think we're still several years away.
There will be no real coins in the Metaverse as the distinction between a real coin and your fully interactive 3-D coin is virtually (pun intended) non-existent.
Of course, you will only be able to transact in digital currencies.
Most of this forum will HATE the Metaverse and all who dwell there.

I think you will have real coins (photographs and videos) you will be able to share, buy, or sell with one another.

Why do I need them? It's a metaverse. "Ready Player One."

It's more than a game. It can be transactions, discussions, education, community, heck I even want to play live cash poker in the metaverse, that would be so awesome

You misunderstand the reference.
It's not about the game. Ready player one isn't even all about the game. They had full haptic interfaces, so you have full sensory input. When I can see, feel and smell the virtual coin, why do I need the real one?

Well if we're checking out coins in a virtual environment (maybe start with something simple like on the Moon) why wouldn't be selling and trading real coins and virtual or even NFT coins too???
I've already sold a handful of my NFT coins!
There could be both high-res/trueview shots of real or virtual coins as well as video of the moving coin incorporated seamlessly onto a rendered VR coin...

But, again, there's no need for the physical object. You're trying to be both old school and new school at the same time. It's like accessing the internet on a rotary phone.

2 out of the 3 things I mentioned do not include a physical real world object.
I mentioned virtual coin... as in a designed coin that exists as an image or 3D.
I also mentioned NFT...that can be pretty much anything which can exist digitally.
And I mentioned a real life coin represented by high definition imagery and or video or even 3D which you would then obviously need to ship to the new owner for physical possession as apposed to some sort of electronic transfer.

The future may be, possible should be, divorced from the physical whenever possible. We've discussed this at my university in terms of museums and libraries. By removing the physical artifact, everyone can handle the virtual Dead Sea scrolls or even take them home. There's no need to have to store, preserve and guard the physical artifact.
I will stick with reality. Just look at the idiots encountered on social media. Imagine how they will proliferate in a metaverse.... No thanks... Cheers, RickO

How much will a virtual roll of 1804 dollars be worth?

Today, I watch a computer screen for over 8 hours a day.
In the future, will I be wearing a headset all day long? Hmmm? Better be comfortable.

Maybe for those of us who want a physical specimen we can just have the file sent to us and get it 3D printed at home?

It would be great if CONECA was in the metaverse
