How about this 1828 half cent?

Nice details and some crust for sure...
Would it straight grade? Do you think the "pooling" around the obverse stars mean it's been messed with?
How about the scuffs above and beside the bust?

It looks like it has been burnished with a rough cloth at some point in its existence. I doubt if it would be straight graded. I would personally pass on the coin/
Not for me,fwiw
It's been cleaned. Best you will get is a details grade. Flip it and use proceeds, and the thirty bucks grading fees ( you might have spent), to find problem free.
Or fill a hole in an album. No problem. ( my thinking)
Agree - Definitely "Messed With" unfortunately.........
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
It has a shot at a straight grade.
Net grade perhaps, decent year and variety.
I think there’s a small chance it would straight grade, but I wouldn’t spend the fees etc on it.
As a type coin, these are fairly plentiful in nice Xf/AU grades at reasonable prices.
No thanks
Looks like an old cleaning.... Might straight grade - 50/50 chance. Cheers, RickO
