Looks 64 to me from the not so good pics.

65, I'm betting the pictures aren't doing it any favors.

Not my series, but it appears to have nice luster, so WAG MS65.

64, and nice look and strike, though I assume 34P coins probably come this way.

I'm not sure why some people think because a coin isn't PCGS that it would be overgraded? I think it is undergraded.

I'll be darn, only one person got 63. I have a few 64's that don't look that good!

@Steven59 its one of the 3 Buffs I own that are slabbed. I have many much nicer raw buffalo nickels. Just not too sure about spending the money to have them graded.

I guess it would be best to post them and see what the consensus is if you are thinking about sending them in. No use spending more than the coin is worth......

For me it's because I have heard it here so many times. My PCGS slabs are soooo tight they squeak when I pull them out of the box.

  • CoinscratchCoinscratch Posts: 9,012 ✭✭✭✭✭

Typically on a GTG the first photos are worse than the reveal photo in order to surprise the guessers with a higher than expected grade. Yours was the opposite and I would have guessed much lower with the reveal pic.

  • gumby1234gumby1234 Posts: 5,591 ✭✭✭✭✭

@CoinscratchFever I have had many undergraded coins in NGC and ANACS holders over the years. I recently cracked out 2 Roosevelt dimes and had them cross to PCGS at higher grades. They were both ANACS MS67. They are worth considerably more $$$ now.

The reveal photo was from my phone so looks worse. All my photos even with a scope come out horrible

Good to know and It's nice to know there are possibilities still out there.
I while back I had an ICG slabbed PR67 quarter cross and upgrade to 68 (shown) then I gave it to my buddy that runs a golf club for a round of golf. Bad idea - the toning is very blue in hand and the score card is long gone :)

    Edit : SEGS

All told it wasn’t a very good image to grade from. JMO
