Starting a coin club at my school

I have been collecting coins for 40 years now. I asked my 5th and 6th graders about starting a coin collecting club at school. I told them I would check on that. I have the go ahead for my school. That is why I am hear. Are there grants out there to start a coin collecting club, if not, what do you suggest on how to start from scratch. I was thinking educating them on Lincoln Cents. Buying $25 boxes of circulated Cents from a bank and searching for condition, varieties, and errors. And having them build their own albums.

I would appreciate any feedback, Thanks

Ask your local coin club if they want to donate coins.

If your local coin club has a junior club, think about working with them.

@beking531 ... Welcome aboard. Great idea... Good luck with your project. Perhaps local clubs, coin shops would contribute to your efforts... Cultivating new collectors is good for future business and the health of the hobby. Also turn them on to this forum. Let us know how it goes. Cheers, RickO
