I was just looking up info on the San Francisco Mint, affectionately known as the Granite Lady, and it can house corporate events and weddings.

Imagine having a wedding there?

Original Dan and I walked by it a few years ago and it was still boarded up. They must have put some money into it.

You have to buy a permit to have a wedding in Ca? Geeze, I've heard of squeezing a turnip before but that is ridiculous!

Not a site I would choose for a wedding... Never cared for the ostentatious displays. Cheers, RickO

Perhaps the permit is for private use of the site? Regardless, we have marriage licenses up here in New England and I don't see how that might not be so different than a permit.

The San Francisco "Old Mint" also occasionally hosts coin shows:

I don't know anywhere in the US you don't have to get a marriage license. That is entirely different from a permit to hold a wedding!

Haven't been by there in a while, but it's somewhat adjacent to Skid Row and there were often homeless people sitting around outside. I wonder if the fee includes ushering those folks away before the guests start arriving. :)

    Great idea!

Combine the two events, so you have something to do during the reception.

You would need to order extra food for the reception. A lot of extra food. :D

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
