2011-W AGE BURNISHED

I have an eclectic collection of coins. Back in 2011 I purchased 7 one oz, 2011-W Burnished Gold Eagles the first day they came out. Seeing that the price has not changed very much through the years. What is your recommendation as to whether I should get them all graded or not? As far as I can see six of them are perfect… but my knowledge is truly limited. My concern is to make it easier for my family in the future to sell them. Thank You

If you are not looking for high graded ones then I would keep them in protected rounds or even better self slabbed it should be fine. I use these. There are much cheaper slabs but these look super nice.
You can write whatever you want inside the label.
Take a look around, they have different sizes and a round ring just like PCGS

If they have not been removed from the capsules and handled, send them in for grading.
Currently selling for a pretty good premium.

Thank you… I have been sitting on them for ten years. Having never graded any coins before guessing it’s time to get moving and start being serious. I do appreciate all the information I get through the years lurking around this site.
@Norway1.... Welcome aboard....Were they proofs or bullion? Either way, self slab will protect them. Graded ones, if high grade, will usually bring a premium. Cheers, RickO
Hi RickO, Not proof…They are Burnished. The mint only released a small amount ( apx 8000+) of them and only in one once. With the W mint mark. If I remember they sold out in a very short time. They came in a presentation box and capsule and I have never removed them the original mint capsule.
Only 1 has sold in the last 90 days on ebay.
These may be a slow mover and selling better raw than graded.

Great Collections has sold over 20 of them this year ranging from $1900-$2100 in MS/SP69 and $2000-$2300 in MS/SP70. They have sold 72 total since 2012.
I have a few of these, and I sent them all in to be graded. I'd recommend labeling them as "SP" rather than MS but thats just a preference.

Forget about waiting for your family to sell them. You sound like you are really not very interested in them. Sell them yourself right now and stop worrying about having to slab them.
When it comes to collectibles the best advice, if you don't know much about them, is to avoid getting involved in them until you actually have a good feel for the market. In the case of coins this site has an abundance of information available.
