PCGS SLAB has 7 digits for the tags, but not OGH

I thought 7 digit coin identifiers were OGH, but this tag looks more blue. Was this after the green tags?

I cannot think of any other reason for the old blue holder.....OBH...new acronym?
I forget what generation holder that is, but yes they came after the OGH and did have a 7 digit serial number.

That's the barcodeless generation right before the blue with barcode front if I recall. Nice looking coin, too.
Gen. 4.0.
Damaged or scratch up OGH. I'd have it reholdered too on a special coin.

If a coin was reholdered wouldn’t the tag follow?
This.
It is a GEN 4.0. PCGS switched to 8-digit cert numbers in GEN 4.1.

Same numbers, new label.

There is no reason to think the coin was reholdered with its old cert number. The first generation of the blue insert holders had seven-digit certification numbers. It's as simple as that. I still have many of the coins I submitted back in 1998/1999 when these holders were current and they all have seven-digit numbers.

I have a gold coin in a blue label holder, seven digit.... bar code on the reverse of the label. Cheers, RickO
It can be proven that some reholdered coins retained their old cert #s, i.e. rattler era cert#s in non-rattler holders. Chris had some examples at the ANA WFoM.
Whether this has ALWAYS been done, SOMETIMES been done, is no longer done, could be done on request, could not be done on request, etc. would be question for our hosts But I suspect there is no one-size-fits-all answer.
For the OPs coin, we've been shown that the cert# is consistent with the holder generation, so my suspicion that it was a reholder is incorrect.
