New toned gold addition

It’s not a US Coin, but this is where I feel most comfortable! I don’t know much about these. Apparently all of them made since 1915 use that date, so I guess there’s no way to tell when it was minted. I love the purples and blues on this one. They are not as vivid as the trueviews make it look. The video is more natural.

I'm not into foreign coins, but that is some really great toning for a gold coin!

@jwitten... What is the alloy on that coin? What percent gold and what else? Cheers, RickO
I have similar question. I thought gold was super non-reactive, and wouldn't naturally tarnish... does .999 fine pure gold tone appreciably?
I believe it’s .986 purity
The coin is .986 fine gold. I'm guessing the rest ( .014) is copper. Must have spent some time near a sulphur mine or a processing plant. Lovely coin, no doubt.
@moursund... Correct, gold does not tarnish.... However, the alloy(s) will, if exposed to the proper environment. Cheers, RickO
Gorgeous gold. Amazing toning!

Very pretty! I love it!
Beautiful toning for a gold coin!

That’s a lot of toning for a coin that close to pure gold.
Very nice!
Beautiful color. But that dude has some "interesting" facial hair.

I haven't seen any gold coin with such toning! Really pretty
I like it.
Kinda reminds me of @SmEagle1795's gold aureus of Vespasian that was buried under the ash of Vesuvius for 1800+ years

I smoke a pipe. Maybe I can experiment.
Maybe this coin was saved from a melting pot.
