The Dansco Albums

While visiting my LCS today, I noticed on her shelves were many brand new Dansco albums for sale. All different denominations and series. The majority of them had price tags of only $36? What? Only $36?
Aren't these classic Albums suppose to be in the high atmosphere price range that everyone claims? I might pick up my first one in 20 years? $36, wow!
Or am I once again, wrong in my assumption? :D
Thanks guys

Joey. Check eBay search. I just looked and everywhere from $15-$55 and a lot in between. Used and new. There is quite a few listings. 👍🏼

The Original 7070 album (the one with an extra slot for an early dime type) is still rare in premium condition. Dansco is making new albums again. There had been a two-year hiatus where the albums went up in price. That has since (somewhat) stabilized.
Certain Dansco albums are still scarce and command a premium. It would be a fun adventure to check eBay (sold auctions) and compare these figures to the asking price at your coin shop.

Yeah, you guys are correct. I just noticed also on Amazon too. I thought they're around the Cherry Pickers book prices, $100+? Oh well, good. Like I posted, I might break loose and buy one, finally. :D which series, would be the tough choice. Wouldn't mind buying a short series like the Franklins. Man, this reminds me of one of the Dansco album I filled many years ago.
The Buffalo nickel set. The whole set too.1913-1938. I even had some 2- feather varieties inside. Man, I regret selling it now.
Oh well, history now, right? Lol

Also, the Dansco GOLD type page is demanding a high price too. Many dealers carry Dansco pages. You would do well to check those too!

Collecting in albums seems to be gaining in popularity. "Album" coins are likely to gain in popularity as well if they are reasonably priced.

I gave up on Dansco making a 7166 album for Kennedy halves and bought a used one off eBay for more then $36. If these are $36, you could buy a few of them and sell them on ebay for a profit. A 7070 type set album could bring you a profit also. Of course, you need to it right away.

    I love the 7070 . . . the best ones are the old ones that misspell "Commemorative" . . . . . .

How many 'm's should be in 'it'?
    Mimt?

Edited to add: I think I prefer the whitman albums. Coins seem to fit better, especially for the smaller coins.

Prices for things are whatever a buyer and seller agree to. There is no "supposed to be".

Just judging from chatter I see online, album collecting does seem to be increasing. I think perhaps the last 18 months may have something to do with that - it may last for a while too. Cheers, RickO

Says who? The ones around here have stuff that's not 99 cents.

Most of my Danscos were from the LCS (ranged between 24$ to 36$) but had to procure the Gold page for the 7070 from eBay for 100$ :s

I believe it was Comemorative . . . . . . .not looking at an old album now, but those who have them will know . .

Unless it's the new-fangled ones which add (and up) in tiny print...

Out here, they have the Dollar tree store. On the front in big letters it says "everything $1". It turns out they mean each thing $1... 😜
