Permission Problem This user's profile is private?

When I click on a user profile, it says:

Does this mean that I have been put on ignore?

Yes... Each member has a choice.... Can be selected or deselected. Cheers, RickO
Yes, users can put their profile on private.
Makes it difficult to see if someone is just here to troll or do nothing but post ebay partner network links, etc.

I find it frustrating. Itβs similar to bidding on eBay and when I go to check out the bids and bidders thereβs private bidder. Hate that!

When somebody has a private profile, can you PM them and ask why?
Why would you want to? Since a private setting isn't a default, they did it for a reason. Why annoy them?
And if it's a troll, that's easy to figure out from their post content. Do you think you're going to find anything useful from a banned member's Alt ID profile page?
I saw someone else having it and experimented with my profile settings just for a lark

Why are you clicking on their profile in the first place? Why do you care if their profile is private? Why not answer my question?
I'm wondering if PM works to those with a private profile.
Why donβt you try?

I don't happen to know who has a private profile.
Fair enough. The OP seems to know something. Perhaps start there? Just trying to help ππΌ

I'm vaguely curious, but have no particular reason to find out from the OP what user has a private profile, then try the experiment... which is why I asked, in case somebody knows.
I suggested that because you like me seems to have lots of time. We both post fairly often π and get stumped by stuff. Asking questions you donβt care about having answered is unusual but to each his own. Peace out ππΌ

If I really cared, I'd probably have started a topic on it, or as you suggested started sleuthing. Since I am vaguely curious, and since this topic was being discussed, I floated the question. Kind of like making conversation, which shouldn't be unusual.
Agreed. Sleuth on my friend ππΌ
