1776 continental curency dollar (with one R in currency)
I have a very old looking 1776 CC Dollar.it was once worn as a necklace and has a small hole in it, was told it was authentic, but I highly have my doubts.
I obtained the coin about 20 years ago and never paid any mind to it, I just put it in my safe and forgot about it until now, I thought I had lost it, but it had fell down with some other coins into a gap in my safe.
If I can email someone some photos of it, maybe they can post it on here for me so I can be enlightened, it has smooth sides, and Currency is spelt with one R. Also it seems to be made out of pewter, with maybe a silver coating or the coating may just be from age, the coin weighs at 15.7 grams (remember it has a small hole in the coin and I may be a tenth off on the exact weight.

I don't mean to be a downer, but I can tell you without even seeing it that you have a modern replica.
The modern replicas were sold in incredibly large numbers at historic sites from I'd guess the 1950s through at least until the 1980s and these pieces typically do not have any marking on them to indicate they are modern. Regardless, if you have a 1776-CC dollar then there was no such animal that was ever made.

I agree with this, except I think the OP was saying a 1776 continental currency dollar, not a Carson city.
In this case, CC stands for carbon copy.

If you have photo you should be able to post it here. Although, some new users have reported issues with that.
I join the consensus, a replica sold at sites of historical interest.... Take a picture and you can either cut and paste or drag/drop it here...Though you may have to wait a bit since you just joined. Alternatively, send the picture to one of us in a private message and we will post it for you. Cheers, RickO
Looks like a cast copy.
Definitely a replica.
That's one of the worst castings I've ever seen.
here's a real one
