What Is Current Value Of This 10 oz Silver Bar?

WQuarterFreddieWQuarterFreddie Posts: 2,630 ✭✭✭✭✭

I am trying to work out a trade with a fellow member. I am offering this 10 oz Silver Bar for his W quarters.

Please advise on what is the current value of this bar. Ebay completed sales range from $250 to $330.

I would appreciate your feedback!

That is by far the easiest math question I’ve ever been given!
    $290

I'd have to agree $290 is in the middle of the sold listings on eba.

That being said it's a fairly generic bar, so spot and what ever premium you can get.

Just wanted confirmation from fellow members so both of us made a "fair" trade.

    Thanks!😎

$275 sounds about right for a straight trade assuming the W quarters aren't being priced at a retail level.

How many W quarters in this transaction?? Or is that to be negotiated? Cheers, RickO

I traded Mercury dimes for "W" quarters. 4 for one.
For strait silver (like the bar) , he would have had to give me 25 quarters. Was that fair ?

Edit to add : that's a side bar. But ten bucks each seemed fair.

The amount of W quarters is irrelevant because we are just trying to determine current market value of the Silver bar.

Specifically, what premium does this bar have over melt value?

As generic of a 10oz bar as you can get. My old lcs sent everything to this refiner and got these 10ozers in return. Spot plus whatever premium you settle on....

We agreed on $260. Deal is done.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond to my question 😎

That is spot price with no premium. Have you tried to buy any physical silver lately? Good luck finding a bar at spot price.😎

Most mom and pop shops will offer you under spot when you go to sell generic bars. Upstate is currently buying 10oz @ $0.65 over so a $6.50 premium. After the covid induced supply chain disruption fully corrects it has never been hard to find generics at spot or less. Glad you got it sold. Congrats!

Thank you! We were doing a trade vs. cash and we have done a couple of trades before this one so I paid a little more than I wanted to for the W quarters and he paid a little more than he wanted for the silver bar😉

It's a fair and square deal when you're both satisfied.
