  • HalfDimeDude, how do you know your roaming lion IHC was made by Frank Brazzell? I am trying to do a little research on Frank Brazzell love tokens so any information you have would be helpful. Thanks.

I would be very interested in what either of you have to report... I wasn't aware that there were love token artists who's identities were still known (like the more famous hobo carvers)
Would definitely add a level of interest to collecting LT's!

  • jayPem, Frank Brazzell Is considered modern in both the world of love tokens and hobo nickels. There is no individual history on the original love token artisans of the Victorian Period. Brazzell and a handful of others were termed Neobo carvers for their nickel carving and at the forefront of the modern movement (1980 and later made).

    Gotcha..
Definitely aware of some of the newer carvers out there, although I'm far from up to date.
I pick up a few here and there..

I wonder if there are any old advertisements around from love token carvers back in the day?

  • Not specifically engraving on coins but there are trade cards about general engraving. Engraving was done on almost every kind of item in the Victorian times.
