Hi guys,
I was surprised when I got my mail today.

My 2 2021 uncirculated sets had arrived!

I ordered two. The same as my last year's order. 2 sets. This year has 6 coins less than last year's but still pretty cool, I think? How 'bout you guys? Did you order these and did yours arrive yet?

Yeah, I agree about the Mint reneging on the Jefferson "W", last year. Oh well. I did buy the Jefferson "W" nickel separately. :/

I foolishly bought all 3 pennies slabbed and the first 2 nickels slabbed.
Such a fool and an old one to boot !🙀🤠

That's ok. Think on the positive note. You now own these. They are a part of your collection. Which is AWESOME! Very cool and unusual coins. Which you can say, "I have these". Esp. Slabbed. Congratulations. ;)
Any "W" coin is an unusual fixture in the Mint's inventory.

I actually collected the coins on my various trips back and forth on the east coast and sent them in to get them slabbed for the Coin Quest 2021. Spent slightly over two hundred dollars plus they were found in circulation thus grading lower and unltimately never put them up in the registry on time. :s

Lesson learnt and not going to do it again.

Can somebody explain to me what this thing with the cents and nickels is? I have no idea. Just recently got back in the game.

The sets are nice to look at... Usually never acquire premium levels though. However, if just collecting for sets, series or other reasons, they are nice. I stopped about ten years ago... but still get the occasional special set. Cheers, RickO

In 2019, the Mint produced "w's" (Westpoint) for the Lincoln cent and in 2020, the Mint produced "w's" for the Jefferson nickels. ;)

One of the reasons why I purchased both years, 2020 and 2021, was because the 2020 mint sets, were the only time that these particular 5 Quarters would be minted. Also, for the 2021 Mint sets, were the only year that the 2 Quarters would be minted. The Crossing the Delaware and The Tuskegee Airmen.
Both year mint sets with a one year quarter issues. ;)

@joeykoins so was the mint supposed to make W dimes , quarters and halves for the mint set?

Maybe. The only way to get the W’s was to buy the 2 proof sets and the uncirculated set. They were bonus coins. So out came the pennies, all with W’s and then the nickels. 1 proof 1 reverse proof ( the biggy) same as the reverse proof penny and then….. they stopped the program. Don’t forget the W. quarters. Really had the makings of an affordable set. Really not a good idea to hurt the lower budget collector.
