Does this Indian gold look legit to you?

I have strong doubts. Tough to tell from the photos (not mine), yet perhaps there is a 'tell' I am missing, you see (and I don't).

Fake. I don't like how the reeding is raised on the rim.

Because the whole coin looks off. The reading especially.

    Terrible photos. No judgement possible.

Smells like a bad fart, something with the raised reeds for sure.
In my experience, any doubts have them meet you at a local jewelry or coin shop (you've called ahead of time to arrange) and have them test the gold or have them get a written authentication from a shop that you track/call and follow up with. If it's knowingly fake the seller won't want anything do with authentication. They don't "have time" or "need to" get it appraised/authenticated because the KNOW it's real.
I generally don't buy raw coins online unless it's from a source I trust. My ex wife said "if I can't put two hands on it, why am I wasting my time?" And that's the same feeling I have about buying coins.

can't tell from the photos, but of course raw coins from this series are always suspect.

Can’t tell from the photos, but the nose looks wrong, among other things.

In general, I do not like the coin in the pictures.... Now, admittedly, it could be lighting or photography... But based on those pictures (reeding, color, strike), I think it is fake. ICBW... Cheers, RickO

Buying raw Indian incuse gold is fraught with the high probability of getting burned.

There no way in hell I can judge that coin from those pics. Now a days I don’t buy raw gold online. I believe the odds are stacked against you in several ways like at the very least a harshly cleaned coin. Nope not for me.

All the gold I buy is PCGS slabbed. Some fakes are just too good to do otherwise.

This appears to be the most egregious offense with this coin. Nose looks to be more bulbous on OP coin, however it’s tough to say for certain with low quality images.

You can see a lot of differences here. Not only bulbous, the nose tip is slanted upwards, the distance and angle from nose to chin is completely different. At the same time cell phone pics can be distorted. PASS

That looks way thicker than it should. Probably an indication that it isn't even made of gold.
