1920 wheat Silver Penny ?

I’ve been collecting coins since 1970, just got back into my collection after 30 years.
I found a 1920 wheat penny that’s Silver? I tried to look it up and it does not show
up. Can someone help me out with this?
I was looking at selling some of my coins when I found it
Thank you

What does it weigh? Some cents have been struck on silver dime planchets by the mint in error. Or it may have been silver plated outside of the mint. Can we get some pics?
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Pictures required or it's no use for us to speculate.
99.99% chance that it is simply plated. Very common for jewelry purposes.
Weight would help.

Best case: It is minted on a silver dime planchet. (Highly unlikely as that year didn't turn those out so much.)
Worse case: It is plated/dipped in Mercury and thus is a bit dangerous to touch.

Stick it on your electronic postal or kitchen scale. If same weight and diameter as other wheaties, it is plated. Silver, Chrome, Platinum... ?
How do I send pics when it shows only image URL,useing IPad,have pics
Press box upper right ( picture). Then press choose file. On my iPhone I can then choose a picture. Once you choose picture go to upper right and press icon

If you can't post pics , at least is it a worn coin from circulation but yet the "silver" finish is bright? Or can you see small bits where the copper of the cent is showing through the silver? That can help to narrow it down

My take an wheat cent thats been rubed with Mercury....its an old HS experment.....until someone woke up and remembered that Mercury is very deadly.

New users seem to be having issues with the "choose file" button. It doesn't seem to appear for them right away.
Don't even need mercury anymore - just plain old chemistry (or access to a plating business)

Thats a lot of trouble as all the stuff needed to complete the process.
As a drop of mercury rubbed on a copper 1920 cent will turn silver as soon as the mercury hits the surface. Being a 1920 coin and the lax attitude towards mercury poisoning mercury was handled without using any protection . You ever hear the term " mad as a hatter"? Mercury was used to make hats, the heavy medal was worked into the felt. So most hat makers became mad or crazy from the exposure to mercury.
"Mad as a hatter" is a colloquial English phrase used in conversation to suggest (lightheartedly) that a person is suffering from insanity. It is believed to emanate from Denton and Stockport, Greater Manchester, where men in the area worked predominantly in the hattery business, which used mercury in the hat making process. The accumulation of mercury in the body causes symptoms simular to madness .

Highly unlikely that it is silver - well, other than in color. Check the weight...That should tell you.. Cheers, RickO
On this forum all it will ask for is image url in a block, can’t choose the pic, is there anyway else to send the pics to you?
If it’s not happening this way for you, it’s not gonna happen.
If you have a photo library you can’t mess this up.
Try copy and paste in post.

Well I ended up taking it out of holder, wiped it of softly and it looks like what some have said, looks like cooper dots came thru.So how do I treat this 1920 Penny, just normal price by grade, but plated?
Classify it as damaged. Numismatic value is zero.
Thank you so much, I will figure out pics for future
