2021 mint set shipping

What in heavens name is taking SOOO long to ship?
I ordered mine at 12:01 and its still processing!

Mine is on the enrollment program, email at 4:13 AM on 9/28/2021 states it has been confirmed. Mine as well is still processing.

I was able to get in and out within the first minute. Completed my transaction at 12 noon eastern. I even set up for next business day shipping! Still processing.

I've called a few times now about it. I've heard that the shipping method only applies to when it "ships", and that the processing time isn't included in that time. Today, when I push back on that answer, specifically how the mint's website says:

"Packages shipped using the United States Mint's Next Day Shipping option typically arrive the following business day if the order is received by noon ET"

I was told there is "no guarantee" it would ship to be delivered by the next business day. Cool. What about 5 business days later? 🤔

All I've heard were mindless apologetic platitudes and "it's processing"

I was also told I have the option to cancel my order.

Seems like there isn't any accountability, a major failure in communication within the Mint, and no inclination to remedy it. But hey, that's just my observation. What's yours?

The Mint FAQs clearly say that they make no promise to ship in any time frame. They have not violated any terms or conditions of the sale. When I complained once, they just sent me the link. I have never paid for expedited shipping since.

For sure this is a learning moment. I will learn from it. But, their site does clearly state:

"Please allow 1-2 business days for order processing plus the additional delivery times below."

I guess I should mention that there were several reps indicated they couldn't do anything else; no additional information was available as it was because of another department. I have seen reference made to a "Fulfillment Center"? I suppose that would be with whom I would like to speak. But, as you may have figured, they had no way of reaching them.

i can assume it is covid related, but that would be against their good performance with the W mint ASE. since then they have fallen off a cliff.

It'd be nice if the real mint just said they are having covid related staffing issues.

Mine's probably going to take almost a month like the uncirculated ASE from West Point mint did and landed yesterday. So not going to check the order history for some time

Stay that way. From personal experience, found out the hard way that romancing the coins is way better than spending them coins for romance.

I had to order a set so I could get the 2 half dollars for my Dansco album. The rest of the coins go in my coin jar and then they will be on their way to the bank to deposit to help solve the horrible nation wide coin shortage.

Just over 160,000 have been sold and now the Mint has stopped selling them, I was about to buy a set as I got the 213,000 set for 2020. This now being an even lower figure since 1960 with 1959 being even lower amounts I wonder if next year they will boost production again or if people are going to expect it, not buy them and even less be sold before the mint stop sales and production and there will be real consideration into trying to get a set. Prices on eBay right now are really good in comparison to what the 2020 set was selling for a few months ago. But then 2022 they could produce millions making these two years key dates for set collecting. Post 1960 (except sms Sets)

I was just looking at the mint offerings and I was quite surprised to see that the annual US Mint Set was not available. They just came out last month with no order limits and no production limits. They should be able to pop out a couple million of these sets if the demand is there. I just can't imagine not having these available for order, these are one of the two long standing annual sets they have in the offerings. At a minimum put up a backorder option so they know how many to crank off the press each month and supply demand.

My order of Uncirculated Coin Set 2021 made on Sept. 28th shows "Shipped" as the status on the mint site but the USPS tracking says "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item" as on October 11, 2021.
It's probably languishing in a bin somewhere buried under all the other orders.
I am waiting for all this Morgan/Peace hoo-haa to die down before contacting them to check about it.

I bet you are annoyed at that, I got my Morgan dollar, the mint set I missed out on but I got one on eBay that arrived today, USPS handed it over to DHL somewhere along the line and arrived 20 days before the eBay estimate, another bonus was my Philadelphia Kennedy $1/2 had a strike through error covering the face so an added bonus to the Philadelphia Sacagawea obverse and reverse strike through error I got from the 2020 set plus full steps on both Nickels.

They should be really checking these incoming orders and make sure they are all processed, someone must be losing the paperwork or hitting buttons they shouldn’t resulting in lost orders which is really incompetent from the Mint.

I would get the set on eBay like I did now they are unavailable, not many know that the production numbers are low and that they have stopped sales altogether.

What were your coins like to mention quality? I had one mint error so if these are common occurrences, then with such a low production number how can they get it so wrong. If you think they are better than last year, well for the sets I have 1 Philadelphia per year and the rest are decent quality so they are certainly consistent so far.

Yes. Totally agree and am absolutely peeved because I snagged them as soon as it was released.
Saw it being sold for 50$ at the flea market yesterday and thought it was too steep a price. So unless I find them closer to release price, will have to remain satisfied with the coins I collected while on roadtrips and had sent it in for the coin quest https://www.pcgs.com/coinquest (if the mint does not eventually trace my order and ship it).

$50? Wow that’s a lot even for a flea market I got mine for $31 on eBay at the end of October.

@vulcanize there is one guy with a set for sale on eBay for $36 plus P&P. Certainly a lot better than $50
