@Walkerfan no disrespect. curious, unless you know the grade already how can you say it would bean? Is it because it has original skin. Even with that it
Could be over graded or solid
For the grade assigned. I ask this because I know you know your stuff and am wondering to my self what I am missing

WHAT?! Did it upgrade? I really gotta try this reconsideration thing. Damnit boy
It upgraded my set when I bought it, and that's good enough for me. I've never tried the upgrade or crackout game.
Cool, well then thanks for the kind words. When I first started a few years ago I always felt like I had to sell some in order to recoup to purchase more.
And I sold a number of toners before I even knew what toner was.
All I really needed was more patience and more money. Here, I’ve learned how to produce more of both (mostly money, patience is a tough one) and I attribute that to the constant flow of wisdom. This place is like no other!

Yes indeed. Patience is certainly a hard spot for me. I can't help myself but keep checking my order status twice a day just to see it still says grading. And this forum is priceless for anyone who truly loves coins.
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
And here is the other from the same set, straight 66 and if you enlarge both pics the plus coin is definitely a better coin.
Kudos to the graders - And sooo close to FBL but obviously not on this one, or the other...

Looks like a well struck Franklin half... not a fan of tarnish and would pass on this due to that issue... A good coin though... Cheers, RickO
When some tarnish comes along
You must dip it... dip it good!
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

I was just guessing that the grade would be MS 66.....I did not know.
Yes, I thought it was solid for that grade (66) and looks to be original. I do know that CAC favors coins such as that (with original skin).
Thanks for the question and I hope that this helps you to understand my thought process and evaluation of the coin.

Dipping that coin would be a sin!!
It would expose more hits, make it look real flat and would definitely lose a point. Been there done that. Dipping is bad, very very bad. Although I’ve had success on proof coins since there is no luster to ruin.

I have yet to submit anything to CAC but I have a few that I plan on sending. Waiting to find a few more before my first sub.
I think this one will "PASS' the test and earn a sticker.

When I reveal the grade I’ll post his brother that came from the same set.
I sold the pair to a member here.
But that’s good to know, insightful.

Nice coin, I like the sprinkly red/orange/rust colored toning the 1957's sometimes show.
