First Strike qualification

Does anyone have first-hand knowledge whether or not PCGS accepts an un-dated box for first strike if you include a copy of USPS tracking info or Mint order info? The mint first class boxes don't have any date info on them. Thanks in advance.

I don't think they would accept it as first strike unless the dates are clear on the box or there is something within the box indicating the order date.
PCGS uses the date on the mint invoice inside the box to validate first strike. They do not use a shipping date on the box any longer. I just submitted coins at Long Beach last week and this is the current practice. The outer shipping box can literally be blank with no shipping labels or anything on it, and still be valid for first strike if it’s still sealed.
Great - thank you
@SlipKid... Welcome aboard...Good luck with your submission. Cheers, RickO
Thanks - appreciate it.
Mostly agree, todays printed shipping labels don't show a shipping date or postmark. The sealed box MUST have a shipping label from the US Mint fulfillment facility.

This is good news. I finally received my 2021-S proof eagles Thursday after being on backorder for some time. I was hoping that I could submit the unopened shipping box from the US Mint Fulfillment Center and still be eligible for the First Strike Label since on my invoice from the Mint it will show my purchase date being the date it was initially released in August.
Larry:
Sorry to give bad news about the 2021 type 2 S-minted ASE proof coins, but the first strike cutoff on that coin is September 15, 2021. There is only 1 date that is printed on the invoice inside the sealed mint box, and that is the day the mint printed the invoice to ship it to you. It is not the date you placed the order. Your coins unfortunately will not qualify for first strike if they were not shipped on or before September 15th, no matter what day you placed the order.
It doesn't matter when you ordered your coins. All that is important is the ship date! The date on your invoice will be the date the mint sent you the you the "Your U.S. Mint order has shipped!" e-mail. If you received the e-mail after 9/15/2021 your coins are not eligible for First Strike.

And if a monster box sealed with a early January ship date is submitted, I’m sure the ASEs will be FS
How would they associate the USPS tracking or Mint order info with a specific box?
Match the USPS tracking info to a specific box via the tracking number?
IIRC, PCGS also looks at the date on the packing slip inside of the box to establish FS eligibility.
Oh well. An after market 70 First Strike it is then. And a triple blue label with gold shield submission on what I've received. Can't win them all. I am happy that I got them though.
No problem. It's the thought that counts. :-)
