I can't imagine the emotions running through Brady right now.
This game has been such a huge letdown, i’m gonna change it.

I must admit, I was a little taken aback when the Patriots fans booed the Bucs when they took the field on their first possession, I was expecting the Patriots fans to give Brady a 10 minute standing ovation, and the game to be held up and Brady to take his helmet off and wave and say thank you. You New England fans sure are loyal to your team.
Next reception for one or more yards breaks the record.
Edit: the refs just said F it and no celebration either lol.

Well, this sure has been a disappointing turn of events, I wanted to see some kind of Pete Rose type ovation!
Uggh, it’s going to be one of those games.
NE has 5 turnovers over their previous 5 quarters.

Gotta start putting together scoring drives soon while their defense has been doing their job.

New England is going to win this game

i just got home. was listening on the radio. Brady always starts slow in big games, I'd love to see a Pats win, but i doubt it.
I’m not ready to go that far yet but they’re definitely making a game of it. I think the Bucs offense is going to break loose at some point.

Mac Jones has lacked pocket movement all season. It's been very noticeable. Brady's the master. We've been spoiled.
I wouldn’t say all season. First two games he showed great pocket awareness IMO even with the right side OL problems. Then last week the pressure started to get to him causing sacks & turnovers. Tonight he’s going up against arguably the best front seven on football who gives mostly every QB issues.

Maybe I was a bit harsh and speaking with recency bias. You are right. But watching him, I like s much of what I see. And he has SO much potential. I cannot wait to see his development.
i know conditions aren't ripe, but if i was BB i'd let the kid takes some shots down the field. Tampa's secondary is decimated and Richard Sherman is a liability out there

Gronk would have caught that.

I feel the same way. I think their top two picks next year need to go for a stud Tackle and a legit #1 WR.

Whatever happens after this, leading 14-13 in the 4th shows a lot
I remember how much impact it would have when we lost Gronk. I used to think we were sometimes too dependent on him. But he does everything, so it makes sense. I was thinking last week about the Bucs and how Gronk's role had changed. He was almost a luxury at first, then he became an essential piece.
Great stop by the defense there holding them to just three. This has been a great game so far(aside from the #$&!@%’/&$# turnovers)

so close fellas. lots to be proud of, lots to look forward to. really impressed by NE (and Jones) throughout

When Brady & Belichick hugged there for a moment you can hear Bill say "you're dead to me" if you listen real closely.

Going for it would have made more sense. Or at the very least, pretend you are going for it and try to draw them off sides.
game appeared to be an attempted rigging there in the pats favor, imo.
several things caught my eye. from the announced brief game stoppage they said they have. then the throw that made him one yard short of the record, then they gave it to him. never did stop the game. just showed “record broken” on the jumbo. and thats it. brees was even on the sideline there and supposed to congratulate him on field. never happened. they never wanted him to have a chance to gain that deadly brady momentum. wont even go into all the calls during the second half and even no calls (offisdes) on that last pats drive. all seemed too obvious and krafty. esp knowing pats history record of dubious behavior.
of course i wouldnt want to be known as the guys that let the best qb in history walk, who then goes on to win the superbowl the very next year, w the bucs of all teams and then have him stroll back into town and ironically beat the all time passing record on my field & then whoop my arse too. in my own dayum house? best bet id do anything and everything to stop that from happening. but thats exactly what happened. pats 0 - brady 3. owen 3.
Glad to see that the Buccaneers win.
I went to bed early as usual last night, but from what I watched of the game Richard Sherman looked washed up.
I stayed up and watched it, it was a sloppy game but well worth staying up
Late for. Big Bill giving a quick hug for the cameras and running off. Josh McDaniels gave him quite the embrace as expected. Too bad the Bucs won but it was a close one! Much closer than I thought it would be. The Pats will get better and the Bucs are not Super Bowl contenders with that D
This is cool https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32334823/tampa-bay-buccaneers-tom-brady-greeted-patriots-tribute-video-brady-cheers-embraces-new-england-return?platform=amp
So I just got to say I’m happy the hype is over now but I will add that the biggest annoyance with this whole thing is players/coaches outright downplaying this whole thing. I mean let’s be real, it’s quite a headliner and should be addressed as such, like Bruce Arians saying it has nothing to do with Brady vs Belichick “because Bill isn’t playing a snap” was just ridiculous. It’s a huge story, acknowledge
It and move on
Belichick went into Bucs locker room after the game and talked with Brady privately. I've seen multiple reports of that. Haven't read any followup.
If the Patriots had played that well in their previous games, they would not be two games behind Buffalo. It will be interesting to see if they can keep it up next week against Houston, which is a mediocre team with personnel issues. If they don’t, this game might well have been a flash in the pan.
I think that the weather made this game closer than it might have been. Brady made some overthrows to open guys that he usually does not do. His passes were not great spirals, and not as crisp. He’s been sharper in early games this year.
As for Jones, the Patriots quarterback, he looked good most of the time, but still got away with some rookie mistakes. Will he be like Jamas Winston? Winston is capable of making several good plays in a row, but then turn the ball over, which negates everything he did previously.
The glaring problem is the same old thing, a ridiculous lack of WR’s. I’m sorry but Myers, Algholar and Bourne are not going to get this Offense anywhere. It’s just not
I stayed up and watched the game, too wound up to follow forums at the same time. Here are some of my takeaways: Mac Jones looked good. really good. He was playing in poor weather, as an underdog, against a scary front 7 in a hugely hyped game. The moment was not too big. at one point he completed 19 straight passes. He seems to be a very good decision maker. the arm is stronger than I thought it would be and can get better with tweaking of mechanics if need be. I am very hopeful for the future with mac.
the defense looked very solid. even without Gilmour. Hightower will get better further into the season. He still is shaking off rust after a year off. It took Gronk 3/4 of a season last year after missing a year. Holding TB to 19 is a feat. especially in bad weather.
this team is a fumble and a missed fg off the upright from being a 3-1 team.
I was glad BB and TB had a private meeting after the game. about 20 minutes is what I heard. I sure would have liked to be a fly on the wall. could it be that all these hard feelings we keep hearing about are not as bad as the media has led us to believe?
ultimately it ended up being a good game that came down to the end.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Glad Brady won and pleased in what I saw from Jones. He is a real deal!
Last night I was wishing we went for it. But I think Belichick weighed the pros and cons and decided not to for good reason. You want your young QB coming out of this game with something to build on. Whether or not we make the kick, the narrative would have been that Jones played great. If Belichick is trying to set him up for future success, this is what we need. If we go for it and fail, especially if Jones makes a mistake, the whole narrative shifts. I would have liked to have seen the Patriots pretend they were going to go for it and try to pull the Bucs offsides. That is assuming we didn't have a false start.
an ancillary thought before i exit this discussion. it's stuff like this that drives me crazy when i'm playing armchair quarterback at home.
what on earth was Tampa Bay doing dialing up low-percentage throws into the end zone on 2nd & 3rd down on that last drive? that idiocy damn near cost them the game at the end. there were a little more than 2 minutes remaining, NE had one timeout, and a kick from that spot on the field in a driving rain was sniffing 50 yards. there were myriad reasons to try and pick up a first down (8 yards), as opposed to taking two stabs in the residence (30). No one understands situational football better than Tom Brady, but you never would have known it on those two plays. i really couldn't believe it. i was truly hoping that NE would make them pay, and they almost did at the end
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Hadn't Johnathan Jones left due to injury and Brady was trying to take advantage of the backup CB by taking those two shots to Brown? Brown almost came up with the second one. I agree though. getting one more first down would have pretty much iced the game
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Well had Brown caught that 2nd pass it would have been the game. I think they were trying exploit the injured DB that just came back in or something like that, however what your saying makes perfect sense BUT the NFL is the most nonsensical game ever, it’s common practice for us to see moronic mistakes that coaches, refs and players make way too often
i am all for removing the internal organs of backup DBs, but that was neither the time nor the place
get 8 or more yards, move the kicker closer, drain the clock, end the game
nah, let's go for 6 twice from 30 out with a football that's slicker than snot on a brass doorknob
the lower-percentage throw, even if successful, still gives NE life. the higher one effectively ends the game
you pull pop tarts like that and you deserve to lose, and i was rooting like hell for that to happen
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
