Good guesses I told myself I would wait until someone noticed it was a Judd. Commercial 63 for sure. Not the point I was planning on making on this post but @tradedollarnut brings up a decent point about the grade on the holder and it’s effect on the price.
Example a grade being a benefit to the price or a detriment. A true MS63 can be held back by the grade esp when all the auction histories are for AU63s. As to this coin it is a slightly mishandled UNC with some carbon spotting and the color difference on the Obv fields speaks to a probable dip at some point. But there are always two sides to a point of view. If one was to pay strong money for an AU63 when there is a large spread between an AU58 you could find yourself down a few dollars. But in cases of price compression where most survivors are in the AU low UNC range if you can get a deal the commercial grade helps act as insurance.

I guess MS63
I'm thinking 62 but a really clean looking one, just missing the luster. Hard to judge by pics alone.
It has weak PL flash instead of traditional luster. The Rev has more than the Obv which one would expect.

Honestly? 58. Maybe a commercial 63 but if you own it I’d bet against that
I was concerned about the luster as well, but with the additional info, NGC 63. Tough issue to find decent like this.
...my first impression was 63 too.

My first thought was 62-63.
Looks very well struck with a cool hint of PL on the reverse is cool.

Why is there a shield on the reverse? If real, 64 given NGC, 63 if you cross to PCGS.

It's an 1859 pattern J-228 or 2 different coins. Marks on obverse and spots---- MS62
