I've heard it said that when you buy a safe, you should carefully calculate how much room that you'll need and then buy one that's twice as large.

Be sure to buy a cheaper fire proof safe and put it in an easily found location. This is your diversion. Load it with a few bricks.
All of this while your real safe is hidden elsewhere.
Why does my diversion safe need to be fireproof? To protect the bricks? 🤣

Reminds me of a true story about 3 years ago. An older couple came to the shop and sold me a few thousand dollars worth of coins. I asked how they happened upon them. An older woman in their church passed away and left everything to her church. When I asked about her home and contents, they informed me that throughout the house (under cushions, in cabinets, books, etc.) , they also found over $700,000. In cash.

US Marshals discovered and seized over $1 million in small bundles of cash concealed in several safe deposit boxes controlled by John George, a former Dartmouth Selectman and state representative.

Ask Nathalie L. Dias about John George Jr., a former selectman and state representative from Dartmouth, and she will talk about his kindness and generosity. So Dias was saddened this week when George, who had been sentenced earlier this year to six years in federal prison for embezzlement, was accused of attempting to hide $1 million in cash from the government in safe-deposit boxes.

Make sure you sink that safe into rebar-enforced concrete. And the rebar must be Super High Industrial Tensile.

Nice! Do you use your spent shotgun shells to hold coins? Looks like a 12 gauge shell should just about fit dimes...

Heck, even better idea... store silver dimes in the shotgun barrel. Good for coin collectors and werewolf hunters alike...

^ In fact, fill those shotgun shells ( reload) with tenth once gold eagles. A box of shells takes a whole lot less space and holds greater value.
Not sure if a tenth oz fits into a 12 gauge shell though

Apparently 1/10 oz gold eagle will fit into a 16 gauge bore. Probably into the shell, in that case.

Crazy, but it's true.
I think the above was an actual crime case, I think that one box is $350,000.oo and there were more boxes.

I used to carry my safety deposit boxes around. Now it takes two men and a donkey to move them.
When one got full I got another. It takes months to sell all the stuff in a box.
