In the Philadelphia area this weekend, any good coin dealers to check out?

I’m visiting some family for the weekend, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for coin stores in the greater Philadelphia/ south Jersey area that are worth a look. Thanks in advance, Dan.

It's very strange how there are no top-tier dealers in the Philly area any more... And a real shame. Is SB's Philadelphia office open yet?

Coins and Currency of Wayne on the main line is probably the most solid shop I've been to in the area. DVRC isn't bad but you have to ask them to bring out inventory, which I've never been a huge fan of.

Not inside the city, except one possibility. I've never dealt with Bob Paul's Rare Coins myself. He has, or had a shop at 619 South Street here in Philadelphia, but that may not be the case anymore, you can contact him at the https://www.bobpaulrarecoins.com/ website and ask him.

Also on the Main Line west of Philly is Main Line Coin in Ardmore, PA , they have a website, too.

There used to be Philly Stamp and Coin on Chestnut Street, they moved to Collingswood, NJ, but I've heard they are closed now.

    Not yet. Later this fall.

The new Stack's and Bowers Gallery will change that a little. It will be easy to find, because it is located in the shadow of the two tallest buildings in the city, the Comcast Towers.

Yeah but I have to drive into the city and pay for parking or do public transit.... in Philly. No thanks.

Really, really wish SB had decided to set up shop on the main line like most of the other big boys.

If you can make it out to West Chester, a local show is running from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I just found out about it yesterday, but I will be there. It's usually a pretty solid show for a local dealer, 50ish table kind of affair.

I didn’t have enough time to make it to any shows. I called several in the Philadelphia area and they didn’t have much of an inventory. I did find one dealer that if he comes across anything that I’m looking for he said he can ship it to my Lcs in Florida for me to look at it, I left my info with him.

Well... You have access to the largest coin dealer in the United States there... The U.S. Mint.... ;) Visit the Mint and take a tour. Cheers, RickO

I don't think the Mint tours have resumed yet.
