Welcome to the forum!
That is a weak strike on the drum and is very common for the Bicentennial quarters.
Not an error
thank you, i thought i had a good one
Flip it over. The drum is opposite Washington's head. They were both competing for expanding metal when the coin was struck.
What made you think that was an "error"? Are online videos now promoting such things? Your chance of finding anything worthwhile in pocket change is close to zero. If you do find anything worth more than face value it will probably be a coin that contains silver, not an "error" or "variety".
Welcome. That is how we start and come back. I spend time reading old threads. Just about any questions you have are probably just a search away.
Also with practice you’ll get good at photos. Good luck and happy hunting
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
I actually think there is a better chance of finding a nice variety or two in a bank box than silver these days.

Welcome, glad you see you caught the coin virus (COIN-21)
Welcome!
Welcome to the forum. Keep on looking, it's your time and if you enjoy that then carry on. Buy yourself a good book such as cherrypickers guide and be aware of what you are looking for and its value. Also, Variety Vista is available for free online and gives you pretty much uptodate infor on most U.S. coins. In case you do not know, PCGS has a free site called CoinFacts that has fantastic photos of U.S. coins and also offers Photograde to assist with grading coins. Knowledge is of utmost importance. Congrats on being bitten by the coin bug. Hope to see you again.

Welcome to the forum, you've already learned how to upload photos. You can usually find the answer you are looking for here even if it isn't the answer you want to hear.
Bummer your first question did not pan out as you hoped...

Welcome to the hobby and don't give up. The excitement in the initial days is great and totally fun, but the learning curve tends to steal some of that. If you stick with it and keep on trucking, definitely bound to find quite a few very interesting finds.
Recently finding silver in Kennedy halves in loose change from the bank after many skunk boxes while doing CRH is one such example in my case and six months ago I was really thrilled to find the new 2021 quarters, pennies and dimes in the wild during a road trip which was promptly sent for grading upon reaching home.
All the best.
Cheers.

@Hagenjames.... Welcome aboard.... Not an error, and the explanation is above.... Do not be discouraged though... we all started out knowing nothing about coins....and we all learned along the way. This is a great forum for learning, many experts here. Enjoy the hobby... Cheers, RickO
It's a weak strike on the drum. "Full Drums" (FD) are scarce.
While finding "valuable" coins in circulation is improbable there are lots of rare coins. It's not only "rare" coins worth big bucks which are few and far between but rare coins that have little current value because people don't know they are rare. You just need to learn what's out there and what to look for.
A good first start is to start filling folders with the nicest example of each date and mint you can find. Almost all of these coins will be the typical variety so you can use it to compare with suspected errors and varieties. You'll learn as you go. There are lots of great sites for learning but most people on most sites seem to dislike beginner questions.
If you look at the bicentennial quarters closely you'll find fewer than 1% will have the drum completely struck up. These aren't "worth" much today unless they are also pristine and then can be worth thousands. There is a Denver DDO that shows up on the "TY" of "LIBERTY" that is in circulation and will bring hundreds of dollars. It is scarce. A "DDO" is a shifting that occurred when the die was made so the lettering on the coin is doubled. You can google up a picture.
Good luck. It's a great hobby and the best pastime.
